    Initially I was disappointed that although I had booked my lunch 2 months earlier because I was a single diner (female), I was allocated a table immediately in the doorway to the restaurant - leaving me feeling that I was to sit well away from other diners. I made it very apparent that I was not impressed with their attitude to single diners; that having been to Michelin starred restaurants in other parts of Europe where I was given a table central to the restaurant rather than by the toilets or in the doorway; I was not going to accept this table. I was prepared to cancel my booking and go elsewhere when I was told other empty tables had been reserved. I asked if they had been reserved for 2 months similar to my booking history. I was then given a table more in keeping with my wish not to feel segregated as a single diner of a certain age!
    From the moment I was seated I cannot fault the friendly polite and attention to detail dining staff and kitchen service. I chose half a Scottish lobster which was utterly sublime; moist, flavoursome, with herby butter. Preceding this was a most delicious fish soup. The variety of breads brought to the table were perfectly baked; I could not resist eating my way through 3 of the 5 rolls - they were so scrumptious. I washed all of this down with a most quaffable Pouilly-Fuissé 2014. I finished my splendid lunch with Agen prunes soaked in Armagnac and served with a velvety vanilla ice cream.
    I would highly recommend this restaurant if it were not closing for refurbishment at the end of the year. Just make sure when making a reservation that you specify a table away from the doorway. The ambience is captured within the restaurant not almost out of the doorwa!

    We have been to this restaurant a few times. The Bookatable offer here is the best we have used. The quality of the food and service is top notch and the value is beyond compare. Unfortunately the restaurant is closing due to the hotel's opening of a new gym on the site, but Pierre Koffman is hopeful of opening elsewhere. I look forward to visiting that new place.

    Koffmans was excellent. The three course lunch for £34 inc a glass of champagne was a fantastic bargain and with lots of choices everybody on our table enjoyed it immensely. The rabbit was wonderful and the cocilette was also a star. This restaurant should never be closing. Please please open another one.

    Poor welcome, and cramped reception area with people trying to buy cookery books, coats being taken and queing up waiting to be seated: we were told where the bar was, but no- one appeared free to show us. Cloakroom toilet had no loo paper, door was badly scratched and bin for towels overflowing: it was only mid-day. Once sat at our table, food was very good and service very good. On leaving and asking for a taxi reception staff told us to walk around the corner and " we should get one"; which we did.

    The meal was excellent with a good choice of dishes followed by high quality food which was very well cooked. The service was charming, quite exemplary, and the whole experience seemed to us to be great value. There was a sense of occasion present without being in any way pretentious. Also a sense of profound sadness that the restaurant will shortly be closing. This good value, high quality set lunch should be thriving rather than disappearing in London.
