The Knightley Restaurant restores your faith in country house hotel cuisine; the food is good. Very, very good. Chef Phil Dixon, formerly of the award-winning Lucknam Park, includes simple, classic combinations in his repertoire yet never fails to provide an intriguing twist. The surroundings might be 16th century but the cooking is resolutely 21st. The hotel's three AA rosettes are thoroughly deserved.
