Flott sted. Hyggelig og dyktig betjening. Nydelig 3-retters med god vin-meny til.

On the outskirts of Oslo stands the gourmet restaurant Klosteret, serving a fine blend of international food in its rustic cellar. Adorned with candles and Gregorian music, the restaurant and wine cellar have over 800 different varieties and has been recognised as one of the best wine cellars in the ‘Best of Award of Excellence’ for consecutive years.

The menu at Klosteret presents international cuisine, superbly reinvented with fresh Norwegian produce. Offering both an à la carte and a daily menu, choose between pan-fried cod in its skin with roasted mushrooms and potato mash, or a meat dish such as rare roasted lamb with steamed savoy cabbage, root vegetable gratin in a rosemary sauce. Equally as enticing, Klosteret’s dessert menu features an indulgent chocolate fondant with yogurt and warm calvados apple pie with vanilla ice cream.

Laid-back yet with a frisson of adventure, Klosteret in Oslo offers a welcome break from the daily grind. From Stortinget it is a ten-minute walk, or ten minutes by bus from the centrally-located Jernbanetorget.

The restaurant is located in the basement of an old monastery, it is lit entirely by candlelight which gives a lovely ambience. The menu is seasonal and the food prepared to a high standard. The restaurant boasts a HUGE wine selection and offers pairings with each course. It offers a 3,5 or 7 course set menu. It was entirely in Norwegian but the waitress was happy to translate. Overall not badly priced by Norwegian standards and well worth a visit.

Deilig mat, men savnet gode alternativ til alkoholfritt.

Fantastisk lokale, lun stemning og meget god mat og drikke (selv om vi valgte en billig vin). Utrolig hyggelig service med en søt og trivelig svensk-somalisk kelner.
