    Just quit with the pianist!!

Overall, the food was nice to good and possibly a bit too much meat with the Pork dish.
Service was OK, but nothing exceptional.

It's the pianist that got on our nerves, it may be a form of jazz, but to not finish a single tune, to keep crashing notes and the volume he was playing at meant we enjoyed it most when he wasn't playing.
He may have been playing for his supper, but he'd never survive playing for his life.

Came here on a recommendation from a friend. If I had read some Trip Adviser reviews beforehand I may not have come as many were poor. However, we had no such issues. We had 3 courses plus wine for less than £100. Not the cheapest but the food was all excellent. The staff were generally good but i would say some did not look comfortable in their role. Maybe they were new or in training. Very friendly and polite but there were a couple of staff related comments I would make.
On arrival we were forced to wait for some time by the bar and were not greeted or acknowledged for about 5 minutes despite there been a person behind the bar.
We ordered 2 starters. Mine came and after a few minutes my wife's had not. I eventually managed to catch someones attention and it was then bought out quickly but i had almost finished mine by then. Not ideal.
It would not stop me from returning as the food quality was very good.

Sadly the food was not as good as a previous visit. I had the trio of lamb but it was served in a sweet sauce which ruined it. When your paying £100 for a meal you expect it to be good.

Given requested table by window. Food nicely presented on hot plates. Service very good.

Enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere in the restaurant and the fact that there (as far as I could tell) no musak in the restaurant itself (we were sitting in the conservatory area) so that you could talk without being drowned out. Good, friendly service and very good food. Well-priced wine list with a few wines on it which you don't see very often (Gavi and Viognnier). Just a couple of points, we had a drink in the bar area before sitting down and weren't sure whether the menu would be brought to us there or wait until we sat down - it was actually brought to us once we had sat at the table.
