Came back here for the first time in many years...Seems pretty much the same ..Good food but let down by service that isn't bad just not up to scratch for a place charging the money they do . Furniture in the bar area is also not up to standard...Wicker chairs ..I don't think so and pouring a bottle of wine with 2 hands then leaving on the window sill .Compare this to the service you receive at the swan West malling and there is a considerable difference.like i said the food is good...Could be better ...A little more attention to detail and a good restaurant would be an amazing one plus with a view/location that's unlike any other .

On arrival the bar area seems sparse and cheap. We were asked if we'd like a drink, asked for a G&T, and asked drinks list, but told only had wine list. Asked for a mojito, said hold the G&T, make that two mojitos, then told they didn't do them, whilst the G&T was continued to be made, then a cocktail list appeared, seemed to be confusion as to what they served and who was serving as there appeared to be three of them.
We weren't given the vegetarian menu, why this has to be separate, I don't know, but it also seemed difficult to identify gluten or lactose free recipes, then another menu appeared with ticks all over it showing gluten free. Again, why wasn't the info on one menu?
Starters were squid and Thai fishcakes which were average. The mains were both cod in parma ham, brought out rather quickly, so had to be kept warm. They were okay, but lacking in flavour, perhaps a different fish may have been more appropriate? Veg & mash were nice.
Deserts, sorbet, and cheese & biscuits, sorbet was as you'd expect, cheeses were stilton?, camembert? and what seemed like a white stilton?, but not sure as the menu didn't say and I wasn't told, could've done with a cheddar though.
A couple of beers, Black Russian, G&T and a couple of poor coffees and a couple liqeurs £105
Service was friendly, polite but a little disjointed with four different people serving, and could've been better. Having to ask for sugar for the coffee is just basic.
All in all it was very mediocre, however I wouldn't recommend or go back again

Arrived early to enjoy pre dinner cocktails in the bar/lounge area. The cosmopolitan cocktail is excellent. A must for us every visit!
The menu looks short but the variety between the dishes is huge. The duck pancake for starter is very tasty. The beef medallions were very tender and cooked to choice. The accompaniment dishes are good and the sweet potato fries are a great choice. I cannot imagine anyone not managing to choose a dish from each course.
The puddings too are varied, the trio is very good. All dishes are very well presented.
My only negative comments would be :
1) that when there are larger parties dining too, then the noise level can be higher that can make even a table of two difficult to chat at some times. However , I would not allow this to stop me from dining here as this can be experienced in most restaurants. Probrably larger parties dining there shows how popular it is.
2) that more comfy and better looking tables and chairs would enhance and compliment the excellent other points. But maybe that would take away The Brasserie element?
The service was very good. The waiting staff were attentive, friendly and efficient. Be sure to tip them well!
