One of the oldest restaurants in Theatreland, Kettner’s spans 3 floors, presenting contemporary modern European brasserie-style cuisine, as well as a champagne bar and 7 private dining rooms.

Kettner’s in London was founded in 1867 by Auguste Kettner, a former chef to Napoleon III. Within 4 Listed Georgian houses, the restaurant is just behind the stage doors and has a secret passageway running to the Palace Theatre. Beautifully preserved and enhanced, Kettner’s boasts elegant period features throughout. With delicate white furniture, marble touches and glowing candelabras, Kettner’s restaurant exudes a homely Parisian feel in the heart of London.

Serving modern European dishes throughout the day and a range of menus to suit all occasions, Kettner's Head Chef Yosef Edri has taken inspiration from Auguste Kettners ‘Book of the Table’: a comprehensive cookery manual published in 1877. Enjoy Kettner's signature dish of savoury ‘tart of the day’, as well as comforting beef bourguignon, and hand-crafted desserts. Kettner's afternoon tea stands are also piled high with their widely-renowned sweet treats and sandwiches.

Full of character, Kettner’s restaurant in Soho was a favourite of Edward VII, Lillie Langtry and Oscar Wilde. Leicester Square Tube Station is just a 5-minute walk away.

We were booked in at 5. asked to go to the bar (at 4.55) we were told we would be collected in 5 minutes. Over half-hour later I spoke to a bar staff member who didn't apologise but simply refereed me back to the restaurant reception. Once done we were taken to a table. Meals ordered, we were then given the wrong starters. we realised there may have been a mistake when eating them. The staff simply swapped the plates (half-eaten) between two of us and walked away. Drinks had to be re-ordered after 15 minutes. The main courses were very good. The Sea Bream was very well cooked. The service needs to seriously improve before we choose to return.

Great food and service despite it being the very busy Christmas party season.

I know menus are subject to change with offers but this was completely different to the one advertised and the choices were not as good. We didn't think it was particularly good value. That said, kettner's is a fabulous place and I love eating there but you may as well eat off the main menu.

Very nice sandwiches, cakes and tea of your choice. The only problem was not enough food and ended up having to pay another £3.50 for more!
