The food was great as was the atmosphere! The design of the restaurant was also really quirky and vibrant!

Moments from the harbour, Jamie’s Italian Portsmouth is filled with old shipyard implements, giving a rustic nautical feel to the interior. Serving simple Italian delicacies, the restaurant also offers al fresco dining.

Launched in partnership with Jamie’s Italian mentor, Gennaro Contaldo, the menu at Jamie's Italian in Portsmouth showcases dishes made with responsibly sourced, high-welfare and sustainable ingredients. Tuck into food you’d find people eating all over Italy, including pasta that's hand made on-site every morning, sumptuous antipasti planks loaded with delicious ingredients, and fresh meat and fish dishes.

From the bar you can order from a selection of easy-drinking wines, served alongside ‘Jamie’s choice’ vintages, whilst the Florence Fizz heads a vibrant cocktail selection. A unique twist for younger diners sees them select their award-winning food choices from a viewfinder menu.

With chic styling touches throughout, such as a mosaic bar floor, Jamie’s Italian is a 7-minute walk from Portsmouth Harbour Rail Station.

Unfortunately not a great experience. Had to return a main course pizza as it was very burnt, other mains were lukewarm warm at best. Deserts were supposed to be warm/hot but we're nearer cold. Considering the quality received very overpriced. Drinks expensive too. I would recommend spending your money elsewhere.

Unfortunately our experience at this restaurant was not great. The service was extremely slow, after an hour of being seated out mains finally came out. The pasta alla Roma was average at best and the chicken brioche was sent back through lack of chicken, soggy pancetta , little rocket and no tomato!!!! The restaurant was overpriced for the standard of the food.

We all really enjoyed! Waiter looked after us and food arrived quickly. Great atmosphere. Will definitely visit again.

Our waiter was very welcoming and informative although I think his shift ended whilst we were there as we only saw him at the starters stage. The service was fairly prompt for nibbles, drinks and starters although the soup could have been warmer. The main course took a long time to come ( change of shift?) and when it did my son had taken our grand daughter outside as she was getting irritable and both their meals were left at empty seats to get cold. My Sunday roast pork was very overlooked and actually burnt on one side, my daughter in law had the same but left most of it as I did (without complaint as we were treating her for her birthday- and I didn't want to make a fuss). Our grand- daughter's 'hedgehog potatoes' were exactly the same as the 'roast potatoes' served with the roast, basically new potatoes (fried in hot oil to look roast?) My son enjoyed his sirloin steak which I was glad about as it cost £22.
