Very quiet, really good subdued lighting and nice atmosphere. Staff efficient and pleasant. Food good, desserts rather expensive but very nice. Large, spacious eating area. Good selection of drinks.

If there is one thing I find difficult to accept with any dining establishment it is being ignored. We were left waiting for our table 15 minutes, even though it was ready. 3 staff downstairs were messing around on laptops we were taken to our table, told two kids menus would arrive, they never did. After the 3rd time of asking they arrived. Had to take the drinks order 3 times. Then 3 main courses were forgotten or missed from the order. To top things off, the waiter never came back with the 3 quid change when I paid the bill. If you enjoy being ignored, receiving poor service and paying decent money for it, this place gets 5 stars.

Having booked our table back in July I expected to be seated in a better location. Instead of by a window or in a cosy booth we were shuffled upstairs in a dark corner with little room for coats or our shopping bags. Yo the point where our plates wouldn't fit into the table the waiter had to bring cans of tomatoes to elevate the planks so we had enough room to set each starter down. The neighbouring tables were too close that waiting staff had to squeeze through to serve us. On a few occasions I was faced with a waiters backside ( albeit a perfectly toned bottom it was a bottom in my face nonetheless)
Kids menu didn't even offer pizza. No pizza in an Italian restaurant ?!?!? very disappointing!
My son chose a pizza from the main menu and we paid £12 for the privilege and of course he couldn't eat it all.
My daughter was unimpressed by seven veg sauce on pasta or spaghetti meatballs so opted for the deep fried gnocchi we enquired with the waiter about increasing the size from the starter portion. Indeed it came double the size with 14 pieces of gnocchi hardly a main dish £12.50 so she was hungry thankfully our Son had some spare pizza. Service was very slow and we sat waiting 15+mins between each course! The waiter kept apologising and
saying the food was on its way.
Why it took so long to slice a piece of lemon tart I have no idea.
I myself opted for the festive menu and thoroughly enjoyed my starter and main although missed out on the prosecco as a non-drinker ( which was made clear to staff) an alternative beside the lemonade we were already drinking would have been appreciated.
So imagine my surprise when my brownie arrived topped with alcoholic ice cream! The waiting staff knew we were sharing desserts with the children and knowing we don't consume alcohol for religious reasons failed to inform us it was alcoholic. As a non-drinker I was unaware the zabaglione was a dessert with Marsala wine. All in all not a great Anniversary experience!

Disappointed with the tasteless food. Starter platter was okay but the pork dish I ordered for my main was dry, underseazoned and would have benefitted from a rich gravy. My daughter's linguine was also dry and not seasoned properly. Deserts were unremarkable and sloppily presented. Wine was just drinkable and hugely overpriced at £21 for a bottle of sauvignon blanc and £8.55 for a large glass of red.. However, waiting staff were attentive and efficient. Overall, poor value for money and won't be booking again.
