Lovely experience. Waitress very efficient. As an older person it was nice to have the choice of a smaller portion so I had room for a yummy desert.. Maybe a little noisey for me.

Very disappointed in some of the food served. The crab and spaghetti contained minuscule amounts of crab, one of the steaks was poor and tasteless, the overall impression was disappointing.

Jamies Italian! "sounds a bit posh" I thought when booking, but we'lll put our best gear on and might look like we belong" How wrong I was! (about needing to dress up that is not the poshness). Most people were causually dressed some in shorts and tee shirts and the atmosphere extremely relaxed and welcoming. The restaurant is magnificent, quite unassuming outside, but inside, the decor sumptuous and majestic. It is a thing of beauty with lots of attention to detail (check out the Thomas Crapper toilets). Staff were very friendly, helpful and attentive. Service was prompt and we felt very well looked after. There was great choice on the menu and prices very reasonable. We ordered a selection of starters and three different main courses . Two pasta dishes both with different selections of sea food and one steak dish. It was simply delicious! and some of the best food we have tried. (we eat out a lot). We will definitely be visiting Jamies' again on our next trip to Edinburgh and will still dress up. Its the least we can do and what it deserves.

I had a birthday bottle of prosecco and a chocolate brownie with Happy Birthday written in chocolate. The seared tuna salad was amazing. All in all a great place to dine.
