We both enjoyed the whole evening the food and the service we fantastic. Ideally situated for dinner before the theatre. The tables were a little close together and on a colder day I wouldn't want to be any closer to the door .

Set within a majestic Grade II-listed building, Jamie’s Italian Cambridge serves sumptuous Italian treats from the industry giant, Jamie Oliver. Obscure bauble light fittings and retro tiling across the bar evoke an on-trend vibe.

Launched in partnership with Jamie’s Italian mentor, Gennaro Contaldo, the menu at Jamie's Italian showcases dishes made with responsibly sourced, high-welfare and sustainable ingredients. Tuck into food you’d find people eating all over Italy, including pasta that's hand made on-site every morning, sumptuous antipasti planks loaded with delicious ingredients, and fresh meat and fish dishes.

From the bar you can order from a selection of easy-drinking wines, served alongside ‘Jamie’s choice’ vintages, whilst the Florence Fizz heads a vibrant cocktail selection at Jamie's Italian in Cambridge. A unique twist for younger diners sees them select their award-winning food choices from a viewfinder menu.

Within a prime setting in the revamped Guildhall, Jamie’s Italian Cambridge is encircled by the historic colleges of the University of Cambridge.

Really good selection of vegetarian food for all courses

Starter was good. Main course was good. But the sweet looked like the chef had dropped it on the floor and swept it up and put chocolate sauce and ice cream over. It was a mess.

Was shown to small, cramped table. Shouldn't have accepted it really. My bad. Wife's seafood starter was great, my truffle pasta tasted wonderful but had unfortunately had been on the pass too long and had dried on top. Pasta and steak mains were good and 'Epic Brownie' desserts lived up to it's name. Waiter apologised for slow service and explained they were very busy. I guess she meant they were short staffed. Overall very good flavours and value for 20.00 per head plus drinks.

Great service - we weren't happy with where we were seated to begin with but even though I hadn't said anything we were approached by a gentleman in a dark shirt and trousers ( not the usual uniform ) who said he was going to move us to another table. I then requested to be in the main room if possible and this was no problem at all . They prepared a table and quickly moved us. He was very professional and extremely polite. Other staff were friendly and one other guy ( in front room) had a good sense of humour and joked with us about moving . Our waitress (Vicky) was very attentive and friendly.

Delightful staff as they were on our one and only previous visit.
    Attentive but not obtrusive.
It would be good if all the food could arrive at the same time as we did have a wait( not very long ) before the last two ( out of six) arrived.

Good atmosphere and pleasant service. Food from the set menu was tasty and well presented. Portions suited me fine. Slightly overcooked steak and mean with the truffle compared with others in the same chain - but overall a good meal at a decent price.
