Have eaten here in the past when we have visited Bristol. The food is tasty and good value and the service excellent. I had the wild garlic spaghetti which was really good. As I am a gold card member ( a free membership that I recommend anyone who uses Jamie's restaurants regularly apply for) we got a couple of extra things free if charge. I would definitely recommend that you visit Jamie's in Bristol if you can - always good quality food and good service.

I have nothing but praise for the venue and the staff, who were always helpful and cheerful. However I was a bit disappointed with the food. I had expected more vegetables and salads and we all found it a little heavy, lots of carbs. I think of Jamie Oliver as such a champion of healthy food. But looking at the super lunch menu, there was no starter that was salady. And for the adults no fruity option for dessert. I had garlic spagetti, which was very tasty, but it had about 3 green beans in it when I think it should have had a good portion of veg or salad with it. Two of the party had the ravioli and said it was a bit heavy. Overall I'd like to see every dish coming with a decent portion of veg or fruit alongside it. There was a fruit option for the children for dessert, but I'd rather see fruit as part of every option. They are unlikely to choose just fruit against just chocolate brownie and ice cream, whereas we could easily have helped them to eat the fruit alongside something else.

Tagliatelle with truffle - delicious - we both had this starter
Caesar Salad - croutons bit too crunchy but overall very tasty
Chicken in a bun served on a board - would prefer to have eaten it on a plate but delicious
Garlic chips - deliciously yummy ??
We had a jug of water no special drinks and coffee to finish

Table was a bit squashed and we were right by the serving hatch. Lighting was pretty dim for reading the menu. But the food was really lovely. Pasta especially well cooked.

Not eaten at a Jamie's Italian before and I wasn't expecting the food to be as good as it was! garlic bread was best I have had, the truffle tagliatelle was has a delight and the bread and butter pudding was almost as good as my Mum's! I also had a steak which was good too. My son had a lovely fresh salad starter and enjoyed the spicy crab spaghetti.

The service was relaxed, friendly and efficient.

All in all a good evening ...and I'll go again,

We chose the Frito Misto, a hanger steak and the superfood salad.
We had a nice pre-starter of tapenade with 2-3 large olives.
The Frito Misto was soggy and undercooked so we send both of them back.
The hanger steak was good, tasty and not too chewy.
The salad was disappointing as the avocado was hard and had little flavour.
There was an odd pile of something like sauerkraut underneath the salad which didn't go very well.
I know it was central Bristol on Saturday night , where general standards are not great , but I'd have expected better from Jamie's.

Good food, good atmosphere, good service but disappointed they got the incorrect prices on the bill -twice . We were a party of 6, some of us ate from the fixed price menu but every item on the bill was charged at the highest individual dish price. When we pointed this out they made some amendments but still presented us with a revised bill with some incorrectly priced items. Needless to say we didn't tip and explained why.!!
