Recommended in the Michelin Guide, Imperial China London specialises in traditional Cantonese dishes and exquisite dim sum. Outside, a bridge sits over a carp pond surrounded by waterfalls, whilst the interior is bright and contemporary.

The Imperial China restaurant menu is led by signature seafood dishes and Chinese favourites. Sample fresh lobster with ginger and spring onion, fried squid with spicy salt and pepper, or the classic aromatic duck with pancakes. Other favourites include sweet and sour chicken, and stir-fried fillet steak cubes with mushrooms.

The Imperial China dim sum menu showcases handcrafted authentic recipes such as steamed pork dumplings and deep-fried pork pastries. From the bar, choose from a range of wines, beers and spirits.

Imperial China in Chinatown sits on the edge of Soho, just a 2-minute walk from Leicester Square Tube Station. The theatres of the West End, as well as Trafalgar Square and Covent Garden are all a short walk away.

We last dined here about 8 years ago - we won't leave it so long next tome

We arrived early - no problem - we could drink at the bar or go to our table. Went to the table, ordered drinks for the two of us who had arrived (booking was for 5 people). Service was friendly and by the time all of us had arrived it was 5 - 10 minutes after the original booking. We ordered a set meal rather than all of us spending ages deciding so placing our order was simple and quick. The starters arrived promptly and the prawn toast in particular was good. Next course - crispy duck - enough pancakes and sauce for all of us. Main course assortment was tasty and definitely enough for us all the Thai chicken was particularly tasty. At all times the service was polite and friendly and we felt neither hassled nor abandoned. We have been there more than once in the past and have never been disappointed.

    Disappointed

Ordered 5 dishes, the only acceptable one was Peking duck. All other dishes were literally horrible!!! If you consider the high prices as well, you simply will never ever dine in here again; there are loads of cheaper and better restaurants nearby. Poor services as well.

Overall a very enjoyable experience for that start of the Chinese New Year. The restaurant was busy at the time which impacted on the quality of service. There was a constant need to keep calling for staff to remove finished dishes left on table and to replenish Chinese tea. Also in other Chinese Restaurants, the plates and bowls are changed regularly which did not happen; and in fact we had to ask for extra cutlery and bowls. However the food was of excellent quality and served punctually

We've been to Imperial China in London many times and always eat well. The dim sum is excellent and this time we had main dishes as well. Food is served quickly after ordering and the atmosphere of the restaurant is calm, busy and attractive.
