My friends and I had booked for afternoon tea and I can honestly say we were not disappointed at all. Very welcoming staff, private seating area with a lovely warm fire, attentive service. Exceptional.

the main dining room was closed for refurb works so we were in ante-room which was perfectly nice. Staff really attentive and pleasant. Food was pleasant without being exceptional. Price reasonable

We ate Tea in the library. Welcoming cosy room, with soft seating, tables blissfully not crammed next to each other like many places now for Tea. Good selection of loose leaf teas, sandwiches very fresh. Scones shouldn't be served at same time as the rest of the food, but am being picky. a couple with a crying baby came into the previously tranquil room, ordered one cup of coffee between them and stayed quite a while, feeding the baby and oblivious that the noise made it near impossible for anyone else to have a conversation. Staff should've suggested lobby or elsewhere for this family.

An amazing looking building. Staff look so professional and beautilful I must say. The whole feeling of the room was one of calm and class. The afternoon tea look amazing, unfortunately I wasn't able to sample the real one as I have an intoerlance to cows milk. Would have like a few more options on dairy free afterenoon tea as well. Minus that I loved the dining experience and can't wait to come back.

Booked dinner here for my friends birthday meal, the service and food was really good! I made a request for them to possibly decorate my friend's dessert just before getting there and they had sussed out who's birthday it was, so my friend was really surprised. The atmosphere was quite quiet which was quite nice so me and my friend could talk, the only thing I could fault is the fact that there were 2 small kids running around and peering over our table all the time which I found quite annoying, however the parents didn't control them during their dining time either so left them running free.

Very nice and well cooked food, very attentive and polite service, good choice of time as it was very quiet on a Sunday evening, but... disappointing end of the meal. When we arrived, we were given the London Restaurant Festival menu (what we had booked) as well as the a la carte menu, and while we selected both starter and main dish from the festival menu, we saw a dessert in the main menu which we both really wanted, and since all desserts had the same price, we asked whether it would be possible to have it, we were told, since it wasn't in the menu, they would need to charge one of them as an extra, which we thought was an acceptable compromise between having a dish from outside the festival menu, which not choosing a more expensive dish. When the bill came, we had been charged extra for both desserts and when we queried, we were told that the chef said the dish was from outside the festival menu, we should be charged for both, and would not budge. Was the chef correct? Yes. Did the chef gain loyal customers? No...

Fantastic experience. We had the afternoon tea which was just the perfect amount of savoury and sweet. Perfect place for an afternoon tea.
