Lovely food, delay on my dessert of 40 mins but was given this free and a glass of wine for the inconvenience! Lovely waitress!

The Hotel du Vin menu celebrates elegant French bistro-style dining, using fresh premium ingredients. Delicate starters such as French onion soup give way to bold mains, which include roast breast of chicken with chorizo and chick pea stew, and vegetarian options like roast butternut squash and warm spiced lentil salad. A Sunday roast menu and range of superb desserts also feature.

The Hotel du Vin restaurant wine list is a highlight, featuring a huge variety of carefully selected bottles. Dark leather chairs and stained-wood tables sit alongside the colourful, bustling bar area, ensuring an elegant yet informal ambience.

Also offering events like wine tasting, Newcastle Hotel du Vin is a 3-minute drive from Manors Rail Station.

We had the £16.95 2 course menu, which was a bit limited. Inclusive cocktail was nice - but there was no choice you had that one or nothing. The food was pretty good. Service was slow, particularly when we were attempting to pay the bill & leave. Restaurant itself was very nice.

Special meal enhanced by the knowledge of the Sommelier - great value offer on the Chateaubriand

This was probably one of the best food experiences we have had, from the moment we walked in the staff where attentive and very professional, we had a meal that included wine and as we are not usually wine lovers we where in the dark as to what we should choose as we upgraded from the house wine, the wine expert gave us an option and let me tell you it was fantastic, the food was to die for.
Would we return?? Try and stop us!!

The Chateaubrian steaks were superbly tender and delicious, generous portions, and the carrots and onion conserve were extraordinarily good. Puddings were lovely, too, and a very good red wine and coffee afterwards. Surroundings are of a very high quality, and the waiters were lively and knowledgeable.

Enjoyed the meal. Would prefer vegetable side dishes included in component and cost of main dish not requiring to be ordered as extras at additional cost. Overall the meal was very good and ambience within bistro friendly and efficient service.

The restaurant is a lovely setting, inside and out, and the food was pretty decent.
The service, despite being friendly enough, was dreadful - we were there for 3 hours, despite the fact that the restaurant was only a quarter full. We were provided with wine within a minute of sitting down, and then left to our own devices for half an hour. We had to wait at every stage, we had to request the desert menu, request to put an order in for the deserts, all of which was part of the deal. And in the end, having waited an age just to get the bill, we had to get up and put our coats on and pay on the way out, or we might still be there now.
We clearly just didn't spend enough money for them. Even though we did order an extra glass of wine and a side, so it's not even like we stuck rigidly to the deal.
They put an additional miscellaneous item on the bill and gave an extraordinarily flimsy excuse when I questioned it. They did take it off again, but the whole thing was charged pre-VAT. The deal was supposed to include VAT. The truth is, it was meant to be a nice, affordable mid-week treat - we only went because the deal, and it ended up being 15 quid more and left a pretty sour taste.
This is theoretically such a nice restaurant, I would have gone back again and again, and taken friends and family. Idiots. No chance now.
Guys, if the deal doesn't cover your costs, don't offer it. But don't make people feel bad for taking it or compensate yourselves by sneaking extra money from them.

Excellent setting, free parking, nice lounge area to enjoy pre and post drinks. Restaurant smart and classy with prompt and friendly service. 3 course lunch was of excellent quality. Room chilly at first but a request to turn up temperature was granted. Would return and recommend.

Delicious food and very attentive staff. Everything was piping hot and freshly prepared. Will go back, hopefully on a warm day and enjoy the outside experience.
