I decided to take my wife here to celebrate her 40th birthday and we were not disappointed. Superb service and fantastic food. Highly recommend the porterhouse.

Unusual restaurant, rather clinical feel about the upstairs but there were very few people in as it was in between a late lunch and early dinner, fairly cosy downstairs however. Definitely for the younger person I would say. Had the 2 course set menu for £25 very enjoyable, the Sunday lunch was lovely and very good portions indeed. Will come again when there are more people.

Third time I've been and another great experience. Great service by very pleasant staff although sometimes almost too attentive - speedy clearing of plates and immediately bringing the menu for the next course did interrupt the flow of conversation at times (though better than the alternative of poor service). Great food and a nice ambience.

GOOD VALUE FOR MONEY WITH WELL PREPARED AND PRESENTED FOOD. WE WERE PLEASANTLY GREETED AND EXTREMELY WELL SERVED BY A VERY FRIENDLY WAITRESS WHO KNEW WHEN TO "MELT AWAY" WILL GO BACK AGAIN.

General ambience good, food ok . The service was fantastic . One of the staff overheard me toasting my husband 'Happy Birthday' and when his dessert arrived his plate was decorated with these words!!!

We went to HIX on one of their special deals, where we had a cocktail and 3 courses. The food was very nice, although a very limited choice, which I suppose was fair enough considering it was a good price. We went at 6pm on a Thursday and it was pretty well full, and very noisy. We couldn't really hear ourselves speak and had to wait for some time for the main course to arrive. We weren't going to the theatre but I did see some people getting very anxious as they had also waited a long time for the food to arrive. I'd go back and try the a la carte menu but only at a much quieter time....

I requested we move tables as all the couples dining tables were on top of one another & my guest felt they were being "interviewed"; they kindly moved Us and we were able to enjoy our evening; the food was exceptional value at 2 courses for £19:50, had so much food that we were unable to have a dessert; Service is impeccable, we were treated like Royalty

The Hix, nothing special to look at from the outside but boy can looks be deceiving because once inside you are met by a modern looking restaurant with attentive staff who are knowledgeable about the food and drinks on the menu. My wife and I had food from the set menu with a complimentary cocktail each.
The food, from each course, was excellent and well worth the set price of £25 each. I would recommend the sweetbreads starter and also the sausage main.

Food just ok. Some of us had chicken and it was a breaded piece of chicken with a lemon wedge and a few salad leaves. No sauces veg or garnish unless you counted the leaves. Cocktail that was included in the deal was like red coloured sugar with wAter. After ordering the second bottle of wine we were told we would have to vacate the table. We were told we could go to the bar downstairs. We went down and there were no tables. Staff where every nice. Would I go back NO.
