Praised by many as the UK’s finest steak restaurant, Hawksmoor Manchester is the first opening outside London for the Hawksmoor empire. Set within a restored Victorian courthouse on Deansgate, this multi-award-winning restaurant is filled with stunning reclaimed pieces.

Headed by a range of door wedge-thick ‘large cuts’ ordered by desired weight (and ideal for sharing), the Hawksmoor menu also offers premium steak cuts, fresh fish and an array of luxury sides. Along with prime meat cuts from small British farms, enjoy indulgences like potted beef with bacon and Yorkshires, or roast scallops with tarragon & garlic. Must-try puddings include peanut butter shortbread with salted caramel ice cream, and ricotta crème brûlée with cherries.

The Sunday roast, voted the best in the UK by Observer Food Monthly, is served with perfected trimmings, with meat cuts including a slow-roast rump, or slow-roast prime rib. A revolutionary cocktail list at Hawksmoor in Manchester includes categories like ‘eye opening’ anti-fogmatics, and light afternoon ‘bridging drinks’.

Re-loved interior design pieces include glazed bricks from a Liverpool public toilet, parquet flooring and wood panelling retrieved from Birmingham's Sandwell College. Find Manchester’s Hawksmoor restaurant a 10-minute walk from Deansgate Train Station.

We have been to the Hawksmore twice now, each time the food and the service has been excellent. The steaks are cooked to perfection and the starter of asparagus with hollandaise sauce was spot on. To coin a phrase ' We will be back'. Not forgetting the cocktails either Tom & Jerez was a winner.

The building ( an old court house ) is beautifully decorated. Luxurious feel .. also liked the informal uniform of staff n their approach to customers ; relaxed but polite / friendly but not intrusive. N timely service , however the way they cook meat ; open pit n then covered oak etc leaves a smell n overpowering taste that isn't good. Couldn't taste my steak for it n could smell it in my hands afterwards. Not pleasant. .

Nothing was too much trouble even going out to get sweet cider which was not on the menu. Food, atmosphere and service all excellent.

From walking in we felt looked after, Louise our waitress came straight over and poured water and recommended a cocktail which was delicious, we then ordered a 950g bone in prime rib (medium rare) along with triple cooked chips, beef dripping fries and a butter lettuce salad, it was cooked to perfection, I preferred beef dripping fries they tasted like chips did when I was little, so with 2 cocktails, 1steak, 3 sides and a bottle of wine our bill came to £165.00 inc £15 tip. It was worth every penny we had beautiful surroundings, fantastic service and the best steak in Manchester (probably the north west). Thank you to Louise and all the other staff who looked after us I wish I knew all of your names.
