Excellent service and treated so well by the staff - we were celebrating a special occasion and we're given complimentary champagne on arrival and a lovely desert at the end. The food was amazing!

Championed as offering the best steak in London, Hawksmoor Air Street brings sumptuous seafood to its renowned menu. Showered with praise from industry critics, Hawksmoor enjoys glowing reviews from The Guardian’s Jay Rayner, & The Times’ Giles Coren.

Sourcing only the best British beef and daily catches from Brixham fish market, the Hawksmoor menu showcases some of the nation’s finest produce. Alongside Hawksmoor’s array of celebrated meat cuts, sample paper-baked bream or charcoal-grilled turbot, and a chocolate and salted caramel cup for pudding.

From the speakeasy-style bar, heady and nostalgic cocktail mixes are served in quirky vintage glassware, while fine wines at Hawksmoor steak restaurant are sourced from both little-known vineyards and big-name producers.

In the plush Art Deco dining room, teal leather booths are dotted throughout, and arched windows look out onto neighbouring Regent Street. Hawksmoor Air Street in London is a 3-minute walk from Piccadilly Circus Tube Station.

I've always enjoy coming here and the service has always been excellent that's why I brought a very important overseas friend who's visiting London here for dinner.

Usually the medium rare chateaubriand is done beautifully and excellently, but last night was over cooked such that 2 pieces from each end (i.e. 4 pieces in total) were closer to well done with little inside juicy bits.

When ordering for the seven year old boy which we specifically said, the waiter gave some recommendations including the belly ribs without mentioning that it's spicy. The boy was so happy when the belly ribs arrived and took a big bite into the ribs only to immediately lose his smile as he exclaimed tearfully and in shock that "it's spicy!".

Apart from that, the waiter got it right in terms of pointing out Hawksmoor in house lager and the monkfish which was indeed chunky and yummy.

For this reason, I have to give the service 1 star and the food 2 stars on this occasion. My guests who stay at Le Meridien with be here until end of the week so if there's anything the restaurant would like to do to compensate, please do so this week. Thanks in advance.

The food was ok, nothing special. I'm not the greatest steak enthusiast of all time but to be honest, the meat was l of very high quality. I didn't quite like what they did with it though - I'm not a huge fan of tasting the charcoal, but as some people are I guess it's just a matter or preference.

My main gripe though is with the atmosphere. Firstly, the place itself feels more or less like a glorified pub, with ugly green sofas and very little effort in decorating. The lighting was awful, and the whole place just felt gloomy. On top of that there were just way too many waiters - I felt like I had to deal with a new one each time I wanted anything. Finally, although I hardly expect every restaurant to have uniformed waiters, I would at least appreciate a little bit of effort. It felt like the staff was dressed for some greasy spoon in Shoreditch rather than for a fairly pricy restaurant.

I've eaten at Hawksmoor before and had a great dining experience. This time I brought the family of 4. Overall they enjoyed the food as well. The scallops and mussels for starters were amazing. The steaks were tasty and the kids enjoyed it. The only blemishes to the evening was my ribeye being over cooked and an overly loud table behind us. We could hardly have a proper conversation without yelling at each other. I ordered a medium ribeye, but it came out almost well-done. Other than that, we enjoyed yourselves and service was fantastic.

The restaurant overlooked Piccadilly. I liked both the atmosphere and the decor--a kind of modern art-deco. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The food was delicious, and the Spring Menu deal was a great value.
