The quality of food and service was excellent. We have eaten here before and are never disappointed. We are never rushed to our table on arrival so we can have a drink in the bar area beforehand.

With sleek, colonial-style design and understated glamour, Havana Restaurant and cocktail lounge presents eclectic international cuisine. On the site of the old 18th-century Duke Street Theatre in Brighton, the continental outdoor terrace is perfect for al fresco dining and drinking in the sun.

The fine brasserie-style Havana menu reveals exquisite creations like truffle potato tartare with oyster and ginger cream or steamed nori wrapped halibut with crab sauce and ginger foam. Choose champagne cocktails or fine wine to accompany your meal, or pick a fresh cocktail, with options like cardamom and pineapple daiquiri or strawberry and basil martini.

Sophisticated and chic, the colonial-style 2-level dining room at Havana Brighton has a lively buzz and features lofty ceilings, leafy palms and an elegant grand piano. There is live jazz every Saturday evening.

In the vibrant hub of Brighton’s centre, Havana is a 5-minute walk from Brighton’s famous seafront. Brighton Rail Station is an 11-minute walk away.

Request for quiet table not met and with hearing difficult did not help. Otherwise service excellent food well cooked overall good but noisy.

Lovely atmosphere and very good and attentive staff. Unfortunately the quality of the sirloin meat was very poor. In fact it was the worst I have ever experienced. I could not eat any of mine and my husband forced his down because he was hungry! I fear the quality of the meat did not do the chef justice at this restaurant, as it was cooked and presented well. The management treated us well and apologised. However it did ruin our evening meal; we had spent a lot of money on a limo from Eastbourne for a special occasion and this experience was very disappointing. The Havanna should change their meat supplier- quality of the main ingredient of a meal should be the most important thing.

Lovely looking restaurant in centre of Brighton. Great food, nice cocktails. Thoroughly recommended.

The service was a bit rubbish, the first waiter was so miserable, the second one was a bit better. Service was slow despite the restaurant being half empty. Drinks were good, but my fillet steak had to be sent back as it was charcoal on the outside and raw on the inside. The second one they bought me was better but I had to wait for it which meant my dining partner finished her meal befiore I got mine. We asked for the desert menu but we were never given it, other tables seemed to be served over us. When we got the bill they did knock the drinks off as we had complained which was a nice gesture.
