First rate service in every respect. Table service, food, drinks, ambience all first rate. 2 very minor points, a) there wasn't anyone on reception as we arrived though that was quickly remedied, and b) I found the atmosphere a little stuffy as there were no windows open or ajar.

we were greeted with warm smiles and immediately felt welcome. the service was excellent, timely but not in your face. The food was outstanding and was probably the best quality I have experienced .Pricing is slightly higher than your average restaurant, but it is worth paying more for the experience. The atmosphere, considering it was a Monday evening, was bubbly and most tables were in use so we had a thoroughly good time.

We had Sunday lunch here, highly recommended by my son. It was a busy lunchtime but the staff were relaxed, welcoming and very efficient. The food was good but not special. The starters were interesting. My partner had sweetbreads which he loves. he reposted them tasty but with far too many breadcrumbs which dulled the flavour. The fish and meat main dishes were very good I believe. I had the vegetarian meal which included tempura vegetables. I expected a variety but got a lot of boring courgette and an occasional green bean and very salty sauce. Two puddings were a tad industrial - available everywhere. Mine was very good, it was freshly cooked small pancakes with peaches and sorbet. Good value for money overall.

Good value Sunday Lunch - Set menu was good. I loved the risotto starter - smoked haddock with a poached egg. The service was friendly attentive but not intrusive just perfect.

I dined at lunch-time and drove up from London for a business lunch. The private car park connected to the hotel next door was a nice touch and took the stress out of finding a NCP car park close by. The restaurant was welcoming and very good front of house staff greeted me with a smile and showed me to the table ahead of my guest joining. The food was top quality seasonal produce that came quickly after being chosen and staff were attentive throughout. Excellent overall experience and when I'm in Nottingham I would definitely go again.
