Formerly the cobbled driveway to the original station, Hansom Lounge at the St Pancras Renaissance Hotel London offers a selection of light bites and refined afternoon tea. The historic building has retained many original features including a vaulted roof and Barlow Blue girders.

Light bites on the Hansom Lounge menu include fresh sandwiches and salads, as well as hearty burgers with fries. Sharing boards include an artisan cheese board and a Mediterranean selection, whilst baked passion fruit cheesecake and rhubarb soufflé are amongst the indulgent desserts.

Afternoon tea at Hansom Lounge King’s Cross exudes quintessential indulgence. Start with a selection of sandwiches, including roast beef with horseradish cream, Scottish salmon with dill crème fraiche, and cucumber with mint and lemon and curd cheese. On the sweet section of the menu, scones, cream and jam are joined by the likes of raspberry macarons and lemon drizzle cake. As well as a range of teas, the afternoon tea menu is topped off by a choice of cocktails and champagne.

Housed in an iconic building, Hansom Lounge London sits next to Kings Cross and St Pancras Rail Stations.

Myself and my husband went for afternoon tea as it was trip we had planned for our 40th Wedding Anniversary. It was an ideal setting as my husband Alan is a train buff and the restoration is amazing.

Overall, simply outstanding! Attentive but not in your face staff, beautiful surroundings and a scrumptious, delicious menu, consisting of 3 finger sandwiches, 3 brioche buns all with different fillings, 2 scones with clotted cream and strawberry and apricot preserves and 5 desserts all of which are explained to you by one of the excellent staff, plus of course, a choice of about 10 teas.
Although it was a Monday afternoon (02/01/17), we were not rushed and we spent about 2 hours there.

Afternoon tea: service excellent, ambience good, sandwiches excellent, scones slightly disappointing, cakes excellent.

The pastries are well presented. Scones are excellent! A lot larger portion than I thought. We were stuffed with food to take home!

Really lovely experience - amazing food (if a little too much!), beautiful harp music and excellent service. A real pre Christmas treat.

Expensive and not very nice. The sandwiches were small and the cakes had an usual taste, the scones were small but edible. The sevice was excellent but the sevice charge should be mentioned in your advertising.

Excellent service. Loved the tea, sandwiches, scones and champagne. However, the 4 dessert sweets were too sweet and I did not eat them.
