Described as a ‘must visit place when in Leeds’ by The Leeds Tourist Guide, Hansa’s has been a standard-bearer of vegetarian Indian cuisine since 1986. Award-winning chef Hansa and her all-women team proudly present Gujarati home cooking, with influences from Hansa’s east African upbringing.

A vibrant spectrum of colour, Hansa’s menu incorporates an array of herbs and spices into the cooking of paneer, vegetable and chickpea curries, among others. Masala dosa is made by wrapping spiced vegetables in a delicate pancake, while a house favourite combines exotic urad beans with a creamy daal curry sauce.

Desserts range from a decadent chocolate cake to a sweet vermicelli vegan option, cooked in vegetable ghee and sprinkled with sultanas, almonds and cardamom. A 3-course Sunday buffet allows diners a belt-loosening weekend indulgence at Hansa’s restaurant, which boasts a colourful interior of purple tablecloths and bright Asian decorations.

Hansa’s vegetarian restaurant is opposite Lovell Park in Leeds, easily accessible from the A64(M) motorway.
