An escape from the lively hustle and bustle of Soho, Ham Yard Bar & Restaurant offers modern British cuisine. Enjoy classic flavours in a plush yet contemporary setting, adorned with an eclectic mix of colourful patterns and fabrics, and head up to the roof terrace for inventive house cocktails.

Beer-battered oysters and kohlrabi are highlights for starters, followed by pork belly with mustard lentils and salsa verde or tuna with chorizo for main. You might find vanilla crème brûlée with Armagnac poached prunes on the seasonally changing menu, for an autumnal twist on the popular dessert.

The bar at Ham Yard in Soho has its own menu, offering snacks, sliders and melts as well as a selection of ‘profitabombes’ for a sweet treat. Afternoon tea is exceptionally popular here, with sweet and savoury favourites served alongside a wide range of teas.

A unique setting, the Ham Yard in London even boasts its own bowling alley. Ham Yard is found a 3-minute walk from Piccadilly Circus Tube Station.

Lovely setting and great food, service unfortunately let the experience down as we had to wait quite a long time for our tea to arrive, a good 10/15 minutes after our sandwiches and cakes. The waitress was not particularly apologetic and it felt we were more of a nuisance than a customer when we asked where it was. The waitress who served us later by bringing the bill and getting our coats was much more attentive.

Was sat at the corner facing a wall, so can't comment on the atmosphere or the ambience. At the beginning several different waiters came to ask if everything was okay, literally every two minutes. At the end we sat for nearly half an hour with dirty plates, noone came to take then away and we couldn't ask for the bill as there was no waiters or they wouldn't catch our eye. Then eventually we had to wait again for someone to bring the bill.

We had a lovely time! We showed up very late to our booking (we got the times completely wrong) but the hostess was very kind and understanding and still managed to seat us right away. Our servers were so professional, kind and patient. The food and tea was amazing. I had the vegan option and was very pleased with the selection and quality. The atmosphere is calm, stylish, and cozy; we felt completely comfortable there. I would definitely recommend the Ham Yard for afternoon tea.

    Afternoon Tea Review:
We had a 5-star experience at an affordable cost!
First, the hotel itself is incredible. It is a mix between modern and tribal, with lots of bright wall decorations and each room is decorated in a unique way. Make sure to explore before/after your tea!

Food: 4 finger sandwiches, 2 scones (clotted cream & jams), 4 different desserts and a pot of tea for £22! You can't beat it! I had an allergy and they were very accommodating. They have three main teas, but you can upgrade for £2.50.

Service: Impeccable! Everyone we came in contact with was friendly and welcoming. They were quick to fill up our waters and checked in on us an appropriate amount of time during our stay.

After doing any afternoon teas in London, Ham Yard Hotel, has jumped to the the top of my list. The atmosphere is classy, food is fresh yet traditional, and service is top notch.

This was afternoon tea for my sister's 50th. There were 3 of us in the party. The hotel itself is beautiful, very stylish without being stuffy. I enquired about dress code before as I have previously had afternoon tea where only smart dress was accepted. Smart casual was the order of the day.
The staff were very friendly. I made the waitress aware that it was my sister's birthday (secretly!) and she brought 2 small cakes with a candle and a personalised message drawn in chocolate on the plate!
The food was delicious and plenty of it. My only suggestion would be that I would have liked a bit more of the savouries, maybe mini cheese scones with toppings and then less of the sweet scones. This is not a criticism as it all tasted wonderful. We just felt a bit high on sugar overload!!
