Awarded a Michelin star in 2014 and winner of National Restaurant Awards Best Restaurant in the UK 2014 and Best Indian Restaurant in the UK 2015, Gymkhana is a centrally-located hideaway serving Indian food, with a strong focus on the tandoori oven. Inspired by colonial raj gymkhana clubs, the interior includes lacquered oak ceilings, glass wall lamps from Jaipur & hunting trophies from the Maharaja.

Chatpata sharing dishes are a main feature of the Gymkhana menu; other favourites include tandoori guinea fowl breast, leg & green mango chat with mint coriander chutney, wild mushroom & sweet potato shikampuri kebab with girolle raita, and jaggery sugar & black pepper caramel custard for dessert.

The lower ground floor is a modern interpretation of a 17th-century East India punch house, with an aged brass bar in the centre, oak wall panels & inky blue-leather banquettes. On either side of the room are two secluded sunken vaults, and the Gymkhana bar specialises in classic Indian punches, cocktails, and gin & tonic.

Gymkhana also offers 2 private dining vaults on the lower ground floor either side of the bar, seating 9 and 14 guests. Gymkhana in Mayfair is a 3-minute walk from Green Park Tube Station. The Gymkhana bar opens until 1am, Monday to Saturday.

Outstanding, authentic Indian cuisine. Quite simply the best Indian food I've had in the UK. On top of that, the restaurant, staff and general ambiance is superb.

    Excellent food and excellent service

Fantastic from start to finish. 3 of us came to £350 but that includes a lot of wine, a cocktail each, starters and mains. Recommend the wild boar vindaloo and the vodka lassi they created for me at the end.
    We'll definitely be back.
Not protencious. Relaxed with great staff and precise recommendations.

    Best Biryani

    Game Kebab was delicious!

Indian cooking at Michelin star level!

    Our waiter was excellent!

Spicy, but slept with no problems! You should adjust that, if you must!

Had difficulties finding a table- IT'S POPULAR! It was after Ten o'clock on a Tuesday, and people keep showing up without reservations & they get turned down!

Great welcome, good drinks at the bar and promptly to our ground floor table. Nice buzz in the room. Charming and knowledgeable service, superb food.
A lot of hard surfaces made acoustics very clattery and hearing difficult. My only caveat in a completely lovely evening. Was treated by friend so cant comment on value.

Excellent food, very friendly staff and extremely helpful and accommodating server. Clean athrooms as well. We will go there at our next visit to London.

I was disappointed on this second visit. Took my family there and the food was way more spivey and heavy than last visit. My 11 year old was not happy and there was no warning that dishes might be too hot for a child.

Service too efiecient as we felt a little rushed. Food was excellent as expected.
