Nestled in one of London’s most bustling, exciting areas, Guanabara is a vibrant celebration of all things Brazilian. Offering sizzling South American cuisine & deliciously fruity cocktails, the restaurant hosts a carnival-style programme featuring dance shows, live music & salsa lessons.

The Guanabara menu promises dramatic flavours as it pays tribute to classic, well-loved Brazilian recipes. Featured is the ‘feijoada’, considered the national dish of Brazil – a pork sausage, salted beef & black bean stew with rice & spring greens. Other favourites include the main grill, or ‘churrasco’, with your choice of meat served with chips, beans or salad, and the vegetarian ‘moqueca’ – a vegetable stew with cooling coconut milk, palm oil, garlic & tasty spices.

Enjoy a delicious cocktail from the generous drinks list, which makes use of authentic South American & local ingredients and features the Brazilian favourite, Caipirinha de Cachaca – a winning combination of sugar cane rum, fresh lime, sugar & crushed ice. With plenty of drinks & a party atmosphere, Guanabara is an over-18s venue.

Guanabara in Covent Garden is a 4-minute walk from Covent Garden Tube Station. The Royal Opera House is just a 3-minute walk away.

Atmosphere is ok overall. They have a live band on most nights. I went with some work colleagues on a Friday night and had a meal (2 course meal which was £24.99 including a Starter, Main and a free cocktail) Both the starter and main courses were not filling enough as I was still really hungry after eating both!!!! Not enough food on the plates and the portion size is suitable for CHILDREN!!!!
Music could have been better as being a "BRAZILIAN BAR" we was expecting ONLY brazilian music or at least abit or some South American music! Instead it was abit of old 80's/Pop music jazzed up a little!
As for the bar, if you are planning on buying a drink, be prepared to wait forever as there was not enough Bar staff about! My friend waited 30 mins to be served so because of this she bought two drinks instead of one so that she did not have to wait again!
