I have been to Grill 55 on many occasions and never had any issues until the 8/2/14. I had a booked a table for 2 and we were seated up in a corner which was fine, until a large party of approx 20 people arrived and as Grill 55 has no waiting area and they were not ready for this party they then gathered around the table which my partner and i were sat. We could not hold a conversation as we could not hear each other. When i initially complained to a waitress nothing was done, i then complained again to which i believe was the manager and he asked if we would move to the table next to us, which would have been pointless as the 'gathering' were also standing around this table and also we were half way through our meal. We were given a complimentary drink on the house and i also asked for this inconvenience to be reflected in my bill, which i am pleased to say was. However the table which this 'gathering' were suppose to be sitting another party was still eating and halfway through their meal they were asked to move! Needless to say the crowd moved and my partner and eventually could hold a conversation.
This has been my worst experience at Grill 55 as on several occasions i have asked for my steak to ONLY come with a side salad, and every time i still get the grilled tomato and mushroom, all i want is a good steak and salad and don't bother to ask for salad dressing as you will be told that it is all ready dressed- i do not wish for my salad to come pre-dressed i would like a nice vinagrette to add myself, which i hasten to add i am still waiting on!
I go to Grill 55 because of the steak, this feedback is not a reflection of the food but my overall experience on the 8th Feb.

I know it was a Tuesday night but there was no atmosphere. The restaurant was cold and we asked if the air conditioning was on but was told the heaters were on, must have been on low. I asked for a pint of shandy but was told they only do bottled beer so gave a bottle of beer and a glass of lemonade and they poured them into the glass at the table.we dudnt gave a starter so went straight for the main course. The steaks although very tasty were not what we are used to, not as good as Hawksmoor. Decided to have a dessert between us and had the chic chip bread and butter pudding which was very tasty but at £6 it needed to be. Overall not a bad experiance but felt it was expensive charging London prices in rural Hertfordshire. Would I recomment to friends, yes.

Food was excellent but service was not up to scratch for what you pay. Waitress didn't know what was in some dishes and didn't bother to ask anyone else! Bad attitude from staff. Also poor wine choice and was brought a different wine than chosen. Then told they only had 3 wines- why give us the wine menu!!!!?

Very good food but service was terrible. Lots of items not available, half of our orders were wrong, staff didn't seem to care. Very noisy, hard to have a conversation. Expensive.

Grill 55 had a great atmosphere. The food was brilliant, it was fully packed and everyone in our party of 8 had a fantastic time. The food was amazing value for money and the service was great, always a waiter or waitress nearby to help

The food is amazing at grill 55, the waitress will actually show and explain to you about the different cuts of meat prior to you choosing and the size of the cuts is exactly what you get, so excellent value for money. However i asked for my steak to come ONLY with a salad, no mushroom, no tomato and definitly no chips, my plate arrived, my steak was enormous but was accompanied by a mushroom, tomato and chips, really how difficult is it to ask for a steak and salad! with that said the food was amazing, once i got exactly what i ordered and my other half who is not a steak person even enjoyed it. I definitley would recommend this place to my friends.
