I chose the venison pie and it was excellent. I would strongly recommend it. The restaurant coped well with the age range and preferences within our party of 6 and everyone enjoyed their food.

Found on the stunning Weston Park Estate, Granary Grill serves wholesome food in a restored 18th-century building. From an open kitchen comes grill classics, seasonal British specials, and tantalizing Sunday roasts.

The Granary Grill menu evolves with the seasons and includes the likes of Coln Valley smoked salmon with toasted pine nuts and red pepper confit, homemade herb gnocchi with wild mushrooms and parmesan cream, and steamed mussels with chorizo. Adding creative touches to classic dishes, warming winter options include slow-cooked Weston game pie, pan-fried calves livers, prime beef burger with mozzarella and red onion marmalade and a chick pea and vegetable stew. Signature steaks from the grill include pepper-crusted sirloin, fillet and ribeye cuts and chateaubriand with béarnaise sauce.

Irresistible desserts include the Weston Park orchard pear tart and an orange and cardamom panna cotta with roasted figs. With wooden floors and stone walls, Granary Grill in Weston-under-lizard is an inviting, rustic restaurant. Serving local beers and ciders, it is quintessentially British.

On a grand country estate, Granary Grill in Shropshire is a 10-minute drive from both Cosford and Shifnal train stations, and 15 minutes from Telford town centre.

Back on track now with a warm and welcoming restaurant manager who is motivating his team well. This has made a huge difference to the ambience and quality of service.

The food and service was excellent. My mother was celebrating her 75th birthday and really enjoyed it and my two children loved the experience. We also thought it was good value for money

    Excellent meal

The surroundings and atmosphere were lovely, as were the starter and main course. Then it all went wrong. Two of the 3 sweets were cold when they should have been warm and the lemon meringue was extremely slimey (and tiny). The staff, though very pleasant, struggled with the coffee and tea. The tea was cold by the time the coffee arrived. One member of staff was even seen to lick her finger and then run it around the top of the coffee cups to remove the sprinkled chocolate. The coffees were cappuccinos.

I enjoyed the Trout. My companions enjoyed the mixed platter. Waitress brought soda to the table for my companions to mix their own spritzer. A nice touch.
