The overall experience was amazing. The staff made us feel very welcome and Renata settled us in to our table and explained all about the food and also took time to explain everything to us. My wife has an egg allergy and this was all catered for. The food was expertly prepared and the quality of the service was excellent. The views over London were magnificent and I would definitely recommend this if you are looking for somewhere very special. We will definitely be back.

What a wonderful experience! We booked for Afternoon Tea in Gong, on the 52nd floor at The Shard as a special celebration, and it certainly fulfilled our expectations. From the personal welcome by an elegant hostess at the ground floor entrance where your reservation is confirmed to the stunning views over London from our window table in Gong, it was all perfect.
The tea was a sumptuous display of exotic sandwiches, warm scones with fresh strawberry jam and clotted cream, topped off with delicate finger patisseries. If you enjoyed a particular flavor ( the fresh crab brioche roll was mouth-watering) then they willingly serve you more.
The service was polite and attentive, without being intrusive, and we never felt hurried, so could enjoy leisurely conversation and good humor while consuming those eye-popping delights.
And then there's the view... We were so lucky that as we arrived the rain clouds cleared and we could see for mile. Then as dusk fell the lights of London Bridge, Canary Wharf, and all around transformed the views once more.
It's quite expensive (although I felt good value to add a glass of champagne with the tea) and certainly made for the truly memorable that we hoped it would be.

Excellent afternoon tea at the Shard. Lovely selection of little goodies to eat with as much tea as you could drink. The service was very attentive without being intrusive. Big smiles all round!
