Afternoon tea was very good with fresh sandwiches and the option of Champagne.
Obviously the stunning panoramic view of London was magnificent and more than made up for the slow service

Afternoon tea was terrible, the food was below average we barely ate, the staff were extremely rude. As for calling themselves a '5 Star' hotel - amateurs!! Took a friend for their Birthday, complete disappointment and ruined the Birthday. Will never return even if I was paid to go.

Overall I was very pleased. Staff were very friendly and not afraid to have a chat. Booking was late lunchtime and it showed. Tables weren't quite clean, bits of food on the carpet under the table although glasses, plates and cutlery were spotless. Did have to remind waitress that we were still waiting on items. Overall a lovely experience

I brought my friend to Gong to have the Afternoon Tea for her birthday present. I can't fault the location and the view. What I must criticise is the service, which is what really let the experience down. Our assigned waitress seemed completely indifferent to us. She didn't smile once, the menus weren't explained and we hardly saw anything of her. The bar wasn't especially busy so we dont know what else she was doing. I asked for extra savouries (I had the gluten free option and the portions are tiny in comparison to the regular food). It took an hour for these to appear and only after I'd asked when they were coming. She just said, rather huffily, that she'd already chased them up - they arrived moments after....
For a total cost of £144 for two afternoon teas, we don't feel it's unreasonable to expect a more attentive service than the one we received. This really let it down, and the fact that 12.50% service is automatically added to the bill rather irks me, as it certainly wasn't earnt on this occasion.
