We loved the friendly environment, the varied menu, the quick service and the quality of the food. Best features have to be quality of food and the old mill ambience and furnishings. The starters we chose were rather large.

The eponymous mill of the Gomshall Mill pre-dates the Domesday Book in 1084, and this medieval character remains in the current pub. Serving well-loved favourites of British dishes, the pub is situated on the River Tillingbourne in the beautiful Surrey countryside, as well as an extensive wine list and real ales.

Boasting honest, home-cooked food, the Gomshall Mill takes pride in its range of main meals, sandwiches and children’s menu. It offers such mouth-watering dishes as stilton glazed venison steak, with potato cake, carrots and Madeira sauce, and roast cod fillet wrapped in prosciutto ham, with roasted cherry tomatoes and saffron braised potato.

Careful to preserve the ancient heritage of the site, the pub interior is filled with cosy nooks and crannies, creaky floorboards and twisted beams, while the terrace offers outdoor dining. With its white timber walls and numerous traditional trinkets, the Gomshall Mill epitomises the country pub.

Gomshall Mill is a serene countryside haven, just 5 minutes’ walk from Gomshall Train Station, and 14 minutes’ drive to Guildford.

Great location and a lovely building brought back to life, Atmosphere is very relaxed and informal, as is the layout and decor.

Staff very friendly and helpful Menu was good but please please don't serve main courses in a bowl It's very out of date and I'm not a dog

Only other niggle is please put gravy in a boat not on the plate You assumed I wanted mine swimming in it !!!!

The steak and ale pie was first class

Nice selection of deserts as well

Had the salmon with muscles and others had the fishcakes
    Once again a fine meal

Please note, as we thought we might be later than booked, I rang ahead to advise the mill of possible late arrival only to find the booking had NOT been made! So they booked it on the back of my phone call !

Gomshall mill was lovely, extremely friendly staff and the food was delicious. Also was a bit of a different venue as we sat right next to the running water. Thanks so much!
