A few minor quibbles, had to wait a long time for ordering food and weren't asked if we wanted drinks.
Having said that, when staff did come, they were very friendly and one in particular Alisandro (excuse spelling) really struck up a repartee with my Husband who's birthday it was, without Gino being there it was the next best thing.
    Food good, mussels starter beautiful.
The restaurant itself is tucked in a corner and we walked past it a few times before we saw it.
Recommend going overall, we drove a massive 154 miles round trip for a meal, but Hubby is a huge Gino fan, and he didn't disappoint.
One big criticism though, open a restaurant in Birmingham,so we don't have to drive so far.

Our first visit to Gino's but certainly not our last. We loved everything, service was excellent as was the food. Nothing was rushed, just very laid back and lovely without any compromise on efficiency. We both loved our choices, Cod crostini & scallop linguine for me, chicken liver pate & crispy stuffed chicken for hubby. Lovely bottle of house red to compliment the meal. Excellent value for money too.

The food was amazing, both in taste and in appearance. We had the garlic bread to start, followed by Lasange for me and Steak for my partner - both were delicious. For dessert we both had the chocolate fondant which was incredibly indulgent. The staff were very friendly and constantly checking everything was ok. Our food was quick and we never had to wait too long for our next course or for a refill on our drinks. I loved it, will defiantly be dining here again.

Quiet Thursday night, plenty of staff, however service was limited in attentiveness, however waiters pleasant when in direct contact with us.

Observations of sloppy service were noted including a spillage of an ice bucket by the walkway to the toilets and which was left and a staff member slipped on them, another staff member had a slip in another part of the restaurant (the floor tiles were quite shiny).

The decor is ok, but feels a bit 'fast-food' and the music was 'interesting' AC/DC!?

Food - no better than 'OK'. I have had food on a par from a supermarket.

Much better Italian alternatives available elsewhere.

Positives were great friendly service, good size portions of food.
Negative was the food arrived within a few minutes and before we had our drinks. I had the lamb stew which wasn't heated fully.
