Brimming with historic charm, George and Dragon Chipstead is housed in an enchanting 16th-century inn. Crackling log fires and gnarled beams feature indoors, or a contemporary patio offers al fresco dining.

Serving refined British flavours, the George and Dragon menu offers a daily-changing selection. Sourcing from trusted British suppliers, the George and Dragon Chipstead champions local and seasonal produce. Sustainable fish stocks and wholly organic or free range meats are used in dishes like slow-cooked duck leg with gooseberry compote, and Devon crab linguine. Freshly baked bread with English butter offers a delightfully homely touch.

Alongside a sophisticated wine list, George and Dragon restaurant takes full advantage of the local Westerham brewery. As well as a range of cask ales from the brewery, the signature “George’s Marvellous Medicine” is a popular choice.

The George and Dragon blends warm hospitality and fresh, modern flourishes. Sevenoaks Rail Station is 6 minutes’ drive away.

Lovely old pub with roaring log fire to greet lunchtime customers on a very cold morning. Also warm welcome from staff who allowed me to choose a suitable table and soon had an excellent pint of real ale from the nearby Westerham brewery served up. The food was wholesome and good value. My guest and I both selected the Brocolli and Stilton soup with fresh crusty white bread (£5.95) and drizzled with olive oil. First class for flavour, texture and portion size. For the main course, we enjoyed the duo of local pork (£15.95) comprising a piece of tender fillet and slow-cooked belly served with mashed potatoes and wilted cabbage. Also very good.

Another excellent visit to this delightful establishment. Set in the picture-book village of Chipstead, yet just off the A21/M25, this olde worlde pub has all the magic and warmth that one would expect, yet has certainly moved with the times in terms of décor and warmth of welcome. The young barman and young waitress were both charming and wonderfully attentive and efficient. The food was perfect in every aspect: bream, duck breast and a really fresh and attractive homemade burger. The pear and frangipane tart with clotted cream was to die for! I cannot recommend this pub highly enough!

Good ambiance and nice relaxed setting.
Good variety of dishes for me anyway.
Nice to have a good selection of wine by the glass.

We were put upstairs into a empty room, no atmosphere at all, overall very disappointed.

    A delicious three course meal.
The starters were flavoursome, the steak cooked to perfection and even the local pink fizz hit the mark!
