Brimming with historic charm, George and Dragon Chipstead is housed in an enchanting 16th-century inn. Crackling log fires and gnarled beams feature indoors, or a contemporary patio offers al fresco dining.
Serving refined British flavours, the George and Dragon menu offers a daily-changing selection. Sourcing from trusted British suppliers, the George and Dragon Chipstead champions local and seasonal produce. Sustainable fish stocks and wholly organic or free range meats are used in dishes like slow-cooked duck leg with gooseberry compote, and Devon crab linguine. Freshly baked bread with English butter offers a delightfully homely touch.
Alongside a sophisticated wine list, George and Dragon restaurant takes full advantage of the local Westerham brewery. As well as a range of cask ales from the brewery, the signature “George’s Marvellous Medicine” is a popular choice.
The George and Dragon blends warm hospitality and fresh, modern flourishes. Sevenoaks Rail Station is 6 minutes’ drive away.

If you want an excellent meal in very pleasant surroundings with a very warm welcome then you need look no further than the George and Dragon.
The pan roasted duck breast was superb and was matched by the Rum and Banana Sticky Toffee Pudding naughty but oh so nice.

This is one of my favourite country pubs so close to London and easily accessible either via M25 or A21. The welcome was fantastic from the manager and staff and the warming log fire in the reception always a nice feature upon arrival. We had an excellent table in the bar area and the food (traditional Sunday lunches) were cooked to perfection and presented very professionally. The service was first class and value for money good for the qulaity of food presented. We arrived early so as to get parked in the car park and there is plenty of alternative parking available a short walk away. Overall excellent.

Found this restaurant on Bookatable as I had used them several times in the past. The level of positive comments helped me decide and I had no trouble using the on-line booking system. There were four of us celebrating my daughter-in-laws 30th Birthday and on arrival we were warmly greeted by smartly dressed staff who showed us to our table upstairs (if you are tall mind your head!). The beamed ceiling dining area has a relaxed ambiance. The menu is not extensive but should cater for most tastes including vegetarian. We selected some English rose wine which was a match for the more celebrated versions produced by our European cousins. Despite all making our own choices it was the Duo of Pork all round. The food was well presented and portioned and the meat was superbly cooked being both tasty and tender. The service is attentive but not overbearing and no request seems too much. We decided to indulge in the sweet menu and between us sampled the Sticky Toffee Pudding, Chocolate Brownies and the Creme Brulee again all excellently presented and delight for the taste buds.
This is not a cheap meal but given the level of cuisine it is value for money. The price includes a 10% 'discretionary' service charge. We will certainly be returning in the future.
The car park has a fairly tight entrance but can be readily negotiated. After all its a country pub built a good few centuries ago when large cars were not the norm!
Enjoy your visit, we certainly did.
