The restaurant's decor is amazing - we sat downstairs looking straight at Tower Bridge - we went for the winter lunch menu - couldn't fault the food or the service - would recommend to anyone visiting London - a great end to our Shard experience.

Amid the buzz of London’s South Bank, Gaucho Tower Bridge serves premium Argentinian steaks and South American favourites. Enjoy views out onto the neighbouring contemporary architecture, or laze in the sumptuous cocktail lounge.

Taking inspiration from vibrant South American culture, the Gaucho menu presents an array of bold natural flavours. Fresh ingredients are sourced from Argentina and used to compile favourite dishes, like king prawns with black pudding and fresh orange, or a trio of juicy beef medallions.

Renowned for its dramatically decorated dining rooms, Gaucho restaurants feature swathes of plush black and white leather and rich cowhide stools, all offset by twinkling chandeliers. Contemporary and edgy, Gaucho in London also offers traditional grappa, glamorous cocktails, and fine wines from Argentina’s most celebrated growing regions.

Enjoying spectacular views of some of some of London’s most famous landmarks, Tower Bridge Gaucho is a 5-minute walk from London Bridge tube and rail stations.

Really enjoyed and made welcome from the beginning

Excellent food - my first Argentinian steak - melt in your mouth. Bit noisy ( typical open plan seating). Two wines we picked were not available, so got dessert on the house.

I was planning a nice day out for my 30th birthday, and booked Gaucho as it was recommended by a few friends. I booked online through Bookatable.com for the lunch menu. And added that it was my birthday in the Additional Info. Upon arriving they could not find our booking, which was a tad embarrassing. Then we were shown to our table which was a bit of a tight squeeze. Our waitress came over and was quite friendly at first, until we asked for tap water instead of bottled water, then then turned quite cold and uninterested. She showed us the Gaucho board of meats and explained each one very well. However, when we told her we were eating off the lunch menu she again turned cold and uninterested. She recommended a nice wine to go with our meal. It was 50mins into the visit that our starters arrived, and mine was not what I ordered. I attempted 3 times to get someone's attention. Once I did it was quite quickly rectified. The food was nice, but nothing that amazing to rush back for. Once the mistake with the starter was made the waitress was a bit more attentive, and kept coming over to fill our glasses up. However once we'd finished our wine she did not ask us if we wanted another bottle, which we would have. my birthday was not acknowledged. We decided only to have 2 courses in the end and go elsewhere for desert and coffees. Our experience was just ok, not the greatest start to my 30th birthday day out with my boyfriend, but it got better once we left Gaucho.
