Reputedly the oldest pub in the city, The Garrick Stratford-upon-Avon dates all the way back to the 14th century, and is filled with exposed beams and intimate nooks. Gourmet pub recipes are served, along with a list of carefully selected cask ales.

Specialising in trusty, home-cooked British recipes, the Garrick menu is made up of time-honoured classics and inventive chef’s specials. The signature beef & ale pie is a creation from much-loved celebrity chef Tom Kerridge, while favourite world flavours include sizzling steak fajitas, or aubergine and roast beetroot curry. Gourmet sandwiches and jacket potatoes are served throughout the day, and guests can round things off with an indulgent crumble, cheesecake or sundae.

The drinks list at The Garrick pub features carefully-chosen beers and international wines, and a lengthy list of soft drinks. Younger diners are not forgotten, with a varied menu for both lunch and dinner, and a mini roast served on Sundays.

Filled with character, and offering a warm welcome throughout the day, The Garrick is 10 minutes' walk from Stratford-upon-Avon Rail Station.

Visited for Sunday lunch with 4 friends.Awful food.2of us chose roast pork,2 small slices of(probably) twice cooked meat ,very fatty.Small portion of mixed veg,undercooked,2 small roast potatoes which were incredibly similar to those sold in the supermarket under the name "aunt Bessie's ".Requested apple sauce but told not available due to supply problems(presumably chef not able to make apple sauce?).No crackling,no stuffing.Price 10.95 (outside price quoted 8.95!)
    Very disappointing!!

The Garrick is a charming olde worlde pub in the heart of Stratford upon Avon. The staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. My partner and I started with the tear and share garlic bread which we both agreed was the best we have ever had.My partner,Lorraine went for the Hunters Chicken with chips and I had beef and ale pie. Both meals were delicious and left us with no room for dessert.I washed my food down with a few pints of the house ale fittingly named Shakesbeer. The pub had a lovely atmosphere and we both had an extremely enjoyable couple of hours there.Definitely would recommend to others and we will return.

A very disappointing meal. The staff were great and gave us a full refund. The Inn was very hot. The roast dinner was terrible, processed inedible beef, really tough. Three roast potatoes, two were the size of a grape, they were very fatty and I'm sure had been cooked in a deep fat fryer rather than roasted. The mash had been nuked, heated in a microwave to an extremely high temperature and the veg wasn't great either.
