Delicious food (esp the rhubarb, oat biscuit and ice cream!), attentive servers and beautiful atmosphere. Would definitely recommend.

Awarded a Michelin star just 1 year after opening, Galvin La Chapelle is the third venture from illustrious chef brothers, Chris and Jeff. Amidst the fashionable buzz of east London, this spectacular Grade II-listed site also boasts a summery al fresco terrace.

Offering a seasonally changing repertoire from chef patron, Jeff Galvin, the La Chapelle menu spans from elegant prix fixe choices, to gourmet Sunday roasts. Exquisite Galvin signature dishes include pavé of sea trout with squid ink linguine, or Landes foie gras with Lyonnaise onions, while desserts, complete with sommelier recommendations, include coffee parfait with berry compote and chocolate crumble.

Named both Tatler magazine and AA London’s Restaurant of the Year, the award-showered Galvin La Chapelle in London boasts one of the most skillfully compiled cellars in London. A rare vertical wine list is offered, as well as some invaluable vintage bottles.

    We have been to La Chapelle a number of times before, and as then it was a simply lovely experience. We arrived early and had a couple of drinks in 'The Hop' which felt very trendy, unstuffy, relaxed and lively. On another day it would have been great to stay there. La Chapelle is quite a different experience, very quiet, much more formal but a great atmosphere. We had booked on a 3 course 'deal' but actually for 'a la carte' simply because the menu looked so inviting. On the waiter's recommendation we went with the signature dishes and accompanying wine.

    The starter of Crab Lasagne tasted very nice, but we didn't like the texture - however we really enjoyed that and the Greek (yes, Greek) wine that went with it. For mains we had Pigeon Tagine - my first time for pigeon - which was delicious. Following up with the best tarte tartin my partner had ever tasted - my cheese option was great too - topped off with Port and coffee. What a way to spend a whole Saturday afternoon.

    We were very well looked after by an attentive but not intrusive staff. Certainly looking forward to my next trip there.

    We had a divine time at Galvin La Chapelle - the ambience and service were both fabulous and the food simply exquisite. Expensive (especially the desserts for some reason), but worth it.

    The restaurant was beautiful. The food lovely I had mackerel starter, calves liver main and cheese to finish all very good. My daughter had the pork belly which she thought was too dry. She had the sea bass main again beautifully cooked but a small portion. For dessert she had the blood orange tartan which was beautiful.

    The dining space is wonderful but despite the heavy staffing, service was a bit slow to get going and the food was solid rather than knockout.
    Also the first bill presented overcharged us.

    Disappointing lunch, poor value for money. Food was ok, but dull and nothing near former glory, now comes across as very overpriced.
