I must say a very good experience. Our offer was for the set menu but the opportunity to upgrade the desert was welcome.

Awarded a Michelin star just 1 year after opening, Galvin La Chapelle is the third venture from illustrious chef brothers, Chris and Jeff. Amidst the fashionable buzz of east London, this spectacular Grade II-listed site also boasts a summery al fresco terrace.

Offering a seasonally changing repertoire from chef patron, Jeff Galvin, the La Chapelle menu spans from elegant prix fixe choices, to gourmet Sunday roasts. Exquisite Galvin signature dishes include pavé of sea trout with squid ink linguine, or Landes foie gras with Lyonnaise onions, while desserts, complete with sommelier recommendations, include coffee parfait with berry compote and chocolate crumble.

Named both Tatler magazine and AA London’s Restaurant of the Year, the award-showered Galvin La Chapelle in London boasts one of the most skillfully compiled cellars in London. A rare vertical wine list is offered, as well as some invaluable vintage bottles.

The majestic Galvin La Chapelle dining room features medieval-style chandeliers, lofty stone ceilings and statuesque pillars. La Chapelle restaurant in Spitalfields is a 4-minute walk from Liverpool Street Station.

    We really don't think the food at the standered of M star restaurant, we have been to few M star restaurant in London, will not recommend to anyone.

    Good service. Very good starters and final course. Mains were not particularly good. Too much pasta, not much flavour to the dish. A very high service charge too for food that was patchy.

    Disgusted by the level of Customer Service. A moth was seen floating on one of our drink. When we raised the problem, our server just changed the drink and did not even apologize. When asked how was our meal by 3 other staffs upon payment and upon leaving, no one even offered an apology on hearing our feedback. One went as far as asking 'your drink was changed right?'

    Other poor customer service include server constantly interrupting conversation to collect plates. It was just me and my partner dining, so there really wasn't an ongoing and everlasting conversation where the server had no choice but to interrupt. In addition it took over 20 mins for our server to notice my glass needs refilling.

    Food wise, my fish dish was overcooked and my partners liver dish was seriously undercooked. The pineapple turnover cake was a disaster.

    Our final bill came to approx £120. And of course they would over charge us by two drinks; drinks that was supposed to be included in the menu offer.

    To conclude, I have had better food and far better customer service for a fraction of the price elsewhere. Totally and utterly disppointed and disgusted by their food and their customer service, respectively.

    Restaurant doesn not deserve Michelin status. Or is the bad service because we booked the cheap menu?

    Having traveled up from West Sussex on a pretty miserable day we were met and shown to our table by a pleasant young lady. This was the start of an very enjoyable lunchtime. My partner did not like the wine she had requested and that was dealt with and replaced without any fuss. The young man from Puglia, who served us throughout our lunch was extremely pleasant, efficient and caring. His attentiveness helped make our lunch an even better experience. Great food in pleasant surroundings. What more can you ask for !!!

    We had to wait 35 mins for our table. All starters overpriced at GBP20. Staff not that attentive. Food was good but overall poor. I would be summarised as 'French'. No rush to return. Loads of better choice within Shoreditch.

    The staff are very attentative and obliging. They are very generous with the bread. The portions look small because the plates are big but they are not.
