Showcasing the talents of culinary-impassioned brothers Chris and Jeff, Galvin Brasserie de Luxe offers exquisite French brasserie dining. A buzzing crustacean bar stands at the centre, serving the freshest local seafood catches.

Sourcing the best in Scottish produce and incorporating a rich French twist, favourites from the Brasserie de Luxe menu include duck breast, boudin noir, salad lyonnaise & steak tartare maison. Guests can dine in the main dining room amongst glossy bistro furnishings and swathes of indigo leather, or at the polished bar for a more casual vibe.

An expertly sourced wine list complements the rich flavours of the dishes, and a sterling menu of French-style indulgences includes apple tarte tatin with crème fraîche.

Set in the majestic Waldorf Hotel, this Galvin restaurant in Edinburgh offers sumptuous continental flavours in a chic setting. Edinburgh Haymarket Rail Station is a 10-minute walk away. Please note, the seasonal menu is only available 6pm – 7pm Friday and Saturday.

The food was good, the service very poor.

Very warm and friendly welcome and excellent service throughout. The restaurant has a lovely relaxed ambience. We dined on the streak, frites and wine offer which was good value for money and were given the choice of an aperitif instead of wine. We then enjoyed desserts which were delicious, the chocolate tart and tart tatin were an excellent choice.

Having been at their Pompadour restaurant upstairs before I was really looking forward to it, but was disappointed. The restaurant was very busy and the table we got was very small, beside a pillar, and beside where the used dishes were put before going to the kitchen. There was no room on the table for the wine cooler and we had to ask twice to get our wine glasses filled (they had put the wine cooler over at the service area). The food was okay but nothing special. Because of the number of people there and the low ceiling it was very noisy.

Enjoyed dining at the Brasserie. Had a relaxing aperitif in the beautiful lounge bar before going to our table. The food was very well presented and tasted great. Service came with a smile. All in all an excellent experience.
