The staff were very friendly and the food was absolutely dishes. We were dining off the seasonal menu and each dish was faultless. It was my birthday and I was also given a happy birthday plate which was a lovely touch. I will definitely dine there again.

Showcasing the talents of culinary-impassioned brothers Chris and Jeff, Galvin Brasserie de Luxe offers exquisite French brasserie dining. A buzzing crustacean bar stands at the centre, serving the freshest local seafood catches.

Sourcing the best in Scottish produce and incorporating a rich French twist, favourites from the Brasserie de Luxe menu include duck breast, boudin noir, salad lyonnaise & steak tartare maison. Guests can dine in the main dining room amongst glossy bistro furnishings and swathes of indigo leather, or at the polished bar for a more casual vibe.

An expertly sourced wine list complements the rich flavours of the dishes, and a sterling menu of French-style indulgences includes apple tarte tatin with crème fraîche.

Set in the majestic Waldorf Hotel, this Galvin restaurant in Edinburgh offers sumptuous continental flavours in a chic setting. Edinburgh Haymarket Rail Station is a 10-minute walk away. Please note, the seasonal menu is only available 6pm – 7pm Friday and Saturday.

Our booking was for the two course with prosecco but that wasn't registered. Then the bill included drinks we hadn't had supposedly ordered in another part of the hotel. Otherwise, the food was good as it always is.

Unfortunately our steaks were overcooked and the service was quite slow.

Delicious food but the service wasn't as good as we've had in the past.

First table offered was behind a pillar and near the toilets - in a two thirds empty restaurant. Glass of prosecco "on arrival" not served until we asked for it as first course came. Food was very ordinary and my beef main course was completely inedible. Replaced by my choice of cheese (2 minute slivers of cheddar and a 3cm square of blue, 4 small wafers of cracker). I was then charged for 3 courses instead of 2. When I remarked that a good restaurant would not have charged at all, my meal was removed from the bill. The servers were pleasant but service was so slow, our lunch took nearly 2 hours. No one seemed to be in charge. No apologies or explanation for the slowness of the kitchen in a nearly empty restaurant. General impression that nobody cared much about the customer.

Lovely lunch here the other day and the little voucher for my friends birthday were lovely. Will definitely recommend to others and return myself.
