The original restaurant from the illustrious Galvin brothers, Galvin Bistrot de Luxe boasts a string of awards for its elegant French cuisine. Alongside top AA and Tatler magazine awards, the bistro was winner of a Best French Restaurant award 2 years running. Find the restaurant on Baker Street, moments from the doorway made famous by Sherlock Holmes.
With over 30 years of culinary experience between them, the Galvin brothers weave their Michelin-starred skill through the Bisrot de Luxe menu. Made using the finest seasonal ingredients, unfussy favourites include lasagne of Dorset crab, or Goosnargh duck breast with red cabbage and blackcurrant sauce. French creations for dessert at Bistrot de Luxe in Baker Street include plum and frangipane tart, or deliciously moist rum baba.
A supreme wine list of rare French vintages and top quality easy-drinking bottles saw this Galvin restaurant named a French Wine Restaurant of the Year in the Drinking Out Excellence Awards. Encircled by 19th-century artwork and the sounds of smooth jazz, the Galvin bar offers more relaxed French dining, and chic pre or post-dinner drinks.
A timeless favourite in upmarket West London, Galvin Bistrot is a 10-minute walk from Baker Street Tube Station.

Staff was very polite & attentive. We had the fixed price menu which was good & well presented. My only comment is that the portions could have been more generous as I was still peckish after eating a 3 course meal!

Sunday lunch: good mix and match value, starters lacking marine excitement, but good choice of main, the unusual(roast dingly dell belly of pork),choice of dessert, overall quality ingredients, subtle flavours, sympathetic, friendly, patient , knowledgable service

Everything was just perfect. Delicious food. Good service. Pleasant and well trained staff.
A delight to go there. Good value deal as well....3 courses for £19-50

The decor makes you feel like you've stepped into a little bit of Paris....lovely staff too. As we were there for the fixed price menu, there was only a choice of 2 dishes for each course, so we only had a glimpse of the à la carte menu. Wines are reasonably priced and available by glass or pichet or bottle.

This is my first time at this restaurant. I saw it advertised at Timeout London as one of the romantic restaurants in the city, so I booked a table to celebrate my wife's birthday here.
The ambience was quiet when we entered, and we were situated at a corner table close to the window. I had flowers delivered in advance, and the staff was really discreet about it not to blow the surprise to my wife. They must be used to this kind of things already. ?. They were also very helpful and accomodating.
Same as other restaurants, we were offered the drinks, and the menu was given. I have forgotten the name of the dishes that we ordered, but everything was absolutely luscious and mouthwatering. The starters, and especially the main dish (pork and salmon) were piquant. No need to add salt nor pepper. It was perfect for my tastebuds. There was like a door to the heavens opening with angels singing in my head with every bite. ?? If you have a sweet tooth, then you will also love their dessert.
Overall, the experience was totally remarkable. I've been to so many restaurants here in London, but so far Galvin Bistrot de Luxe has been the only one to fully satisfy my craving for a great meal. I would like to commend the chef for a job well done. I will definitely come back for more, with or without occasion. ??

The place has interesting decor, with test tubes hanging from the ceiling. The food is de-constructed and interesting. The tastiest food was actually was the dessert - a kind of whipped up bread and butter pudding made with brioche and caramel......delicious. Portions tiny - we had the tasting menu so my men friends filled up a bit on the delicious bread. All in all, a great experience, and a good place to fine dine to impress. the best thing was the wine list and the sommelier.

Galvin was better than I remembered it and even then, it was really good. Welcome, service, food and wine were all faultless. I would certainly go back.
