Excellent. Friendly service and really good food

Frontline in London is a restaurant with its own story, found below the journalists’ club of the same name. The classically British menu makes use of the finest produce, much of it from Frontline’s own Norfolk farm.
The fare at Frontline is reassuringly robust. Mains such as roast chicken, hedgerow garlic mash and woodland mushrooms, or potato dumplings, sprouting broccoli and cashel blue, nod towards honest home-cooked British cuisine.
Their indulgent dessert list is equally comforting, with sticky toffee pudding and butterscotch crème fraiche, and pistachio rice pudding and blackberry jam bringing a new twist to old favourites. Frontline also keep a wide selection of well-chosen fine wines from around the world.
Also offering a pre- and post-theatre set menu, Frontline restaurant’s award-winning food makes this one of Paddington’s best finds. A 4-minute walk from Paddington Station, it’s also close to Edgware Road and Lancaster Gate Tube.

We had an excellent experience: welcoming, capable staff in an interesting environment. Frontline is an organization of worldwide photojournalists whose work is displayed and featured in the restaurant. The food is very good; we had the cod and haddock, but there are meat and chicken entres that looked good, too. This was s a unique place near Paddington Station; so, very convenient, also. I'd recommend it.

Being a little away from the West End this restuarant was quiet for an early Saturday dinner, which was pleasant, although it got busier later. Having spent a day out in the West End and travelling back via Paddington Frontline provided excellent food and service in a pleasant and unhurried atmospere and at the perfect location. Definitely a good choice rather than the frantic nature of a Saturday night in Soho! I was looking for good quality food in an interesting environment for my Wife's birthday and Frontline did not disappoint. The menu was interesting and varied and although not large still had us struggling to decide between dishes. The service was prompt helpful and engaging.

Overall a very poor experience - we booked on a recommendation and due to proximity to Paddington as were hosting some very important business partners
Drinks order was slow in being taken and then the wrong drinks were delivered
The waiter got a food order wrong and delivered both starter and main at same time for one of the guests - due to the length of time food had taken and the fact it was getting late we continued - this then meant that our main courses were late in being delivered.
The food quality was poor and my fish was soggy and undercooked and chip portion totalled to 10 chips!
The prices were typically London but the food was the worst quality pub grub!
By this time it was too late to change or do anything different so we left asap
Will not be revisiting this restaurant as I cannot afford to put my partners through this expereicne again and I have already had to apologise to them for the poor choice of restaraunt

A night to forget! The fish (in the fish and chips) was off. I am fisheries biologist and know my fish - the food I was served was a public health hazard; its smell so bad it should never have been accepted in a kitchen. With insufficient time to reorder mains before catching trains we ordered ice creams as a hasty desert. These took fifty minutes to arrive as the restaurant emptied around us. A wholly disappointing experience, and a great shame to lose faith in Frontline's reliability.
