The Frankie & Benny’s menu offers a tasty range of New York Italian classics. Legendary burgers include the juicy Brooklyn beef burger, loaded high with smoky barbecue pulled beef, and the Manhattan waffle burger topped with a sweet American waffle and drizzled with smoky barbecue sauce. There’s also a wide range of pizzas and pastas, including the fully loaded mac ‘n’ cheese calzone, delicious Roman smoky pizza and signature F&B meatballs.

Enjoy a stateside-style breakfast, with all-American pancakes topped with bacon and syrup served with freshly ground coffee. A host of drinks are mixed at the bottle-lined bar, offering classic cocktails, world wines, and fresh milkshakes churned with your favourite ice cream flavour.

Unfortunately the evening was a disaster. We arrived at 7.15pm and were told that the waiting time for food would be long, however, we were not told just how long!
We ordered drinks with our food which took over 15 minutes to arrive. Our starters took over 30 minutes and our mains took 85 minutes to arrive.
The mushrooms for our starters were overcooked and dry but they were covered in a sauce which hid the problem to a degree. We said nothing as we could see that the restaurant was understaffed. However, when the main course finally arrived (my mother did not order a starter and her stomach was rumbling!) we found it to be inedible.
My mother and I ordered chicken and mushroom penne in a creamy sauce. It was 99% penne. The chicken was burnt and the sauce watery. The whole dish was pretty tasteless. My husband ordered a cheeseburger. The cheese on top of the burger looked transparent and the burger was cold. The chips were fine but that was all. There was a side of salad (or was it coleslaw - we couldn't tell) which was so minuscule that it would have been better if they hadn't bothered.
We felt we had to complain. It was dealt with very professionally and we were offered free dessert, which we declined due to the time it would probably take to arrive! So we were then given a voucher of £20 to return. I have to say that the staff were rushed off their feet the whole time we were there. They were also pleasant and friendly. It was a real shame as the only reason we went there was so my mother could try the fabulous blueberry ice cream, which we ended up not having!
We left at 8.50pm by which time we had lost the desire to eat, so went home sorely disappointed.
