Set in the charming village of Fressingfield in Suffolk, The Fox & Goose restaurant showcases traditional-meets-modern cuisine. This 2 AA Rosette-holding restaurant is featured in both the Michelin and Harden's food guides.

Starters on the Fox & Goose menu might include smoked duck breast with pickled winter vegetables, whilst the wild sea bass with scallop mousse with sherry caramel and Parmesan crumble is a must-try main course.

A mouth-watering array of desserts follow, among which the chocolate and peanut butter mousse with popcorn, salted caramel and caramelised white chocolate sorbet is a favourite. This Grade II-listed setting also features an impressive al fresco area, shaded by the neighbouring greenery.

Featuring a tasting menu and a prized Sunday lunch offering, The Fox & Goose is a diverse dining spot. Bosting many original features, this former guildhall has stood on the site since 1509.

    Excellent service and delightful menu. Interesting starters - loved the roasted artichokes. Good choice of meat, fish and veggie mains; enticing and very well presented. Always have a special which was venison on this occasion. Needless to say meat was tender and perfectly cooked. Accompaniments were also interesting and complimented the meats perfectly. No room for dessert but again good choices- next time it will be a main and a dessert.
    Wine selection is also just what required.
    A friendly buzzing atmosphere downstairs in the pub restaurant.
    We have been before and we will go again. We always take guests and recommend to clients who stay in our holiday cottages.

    As a family we use the Fox and Goose for special occasions, and have visited many times, we have always had wonderful service and the food is the best in the area.

    Having never eaten at the fox and goose before I did not know what to expect. I was impressed that the staff member that greeted us new my name. The restaurant had a good selection of dishes throughout the menu and the food was of very high quality. The wine list was extensive and reasonably priced and to be able to have three very good courses and a pleasant bottle of wine for two of us for under £100 was a real bonus . I would recommend this restaurant to anyone that loves good food.

    We have been going to the Fox and Goose for many years now. We first met Sarah and Paul went they first took on the Fox and Goose and in that time we have never been disappointed in the food or the service. Both are always excellent. The only disappointment we have ever had is being unable to book a table. If you want to dine here booking is mandatory and I would suggest a two week lead time, during holiday periods book as far in advance as you can. We usually go for Sunday lunch, my wife almost always has the roast beef and I have started having one of the fish dishes which are always on the menu. Both are cooked to perfection! And then there are the puddings, Paul does some really wonderful things with chocolate... I would eat here once a week but my I have to have some consideration for my waist line. We will keep coming back!
