Extremely poor. On arriving, the waiter by the stood close to the door, who clearly saw, chatted away to someone and then walked past me leaving me standing waiting for about 5 minutes. When someone did come over they looked at me blankly when I told them I'd made a reservation as though they were too busy for us. I was asked to wait at the bar while they 'made room for us' and whilst at the bar all the staff ignored us and had a row amongst themselves and were clearly arguing about where we would be seated. It took ages to get someone's attention to ask for a drink and when we did the member of staff looked at us rudely and said they were too busy and we'd have to wait. Eventually we were asked what we wanted. We ordered and then before our drinks came another waiter ushered us hurriedly over to our table. After being seated he rushed off and it then took 5 minutes to get someone's attention to ask for us drinks to be bought from the bar to our table; and another ten minutes for them then to be brought to us. We had another long wait before we could order our drinks and then our food, with waiters always looking like they were too busy for us. The menu was disappointingly basic and small, not what I'd expect from a decent Italian restaurant. The wine list ridiculously basic and short. We ordered fish cakes for a starter which were incredibly poor and tasted like something frozen. Steak as a main which was really bad quality, especially in comparison to many other nearby comparable restaurants that charge similar. I ordered chips with my steak which seemed again very basic quality and very much like they were frozen. Overall such a poor and disappointing experience. The restaurant looks nice but its seems not as much attention has been given to the quality of the food and service, very sadly.

Very quiet at 8.30 on a Thursday evening, but greeted with a glass of Prosecco which was conducive to a relaxed and friendly dining experience. We asked to taste the wine before making a decision to try something new and the waiter gladly obliged. The Gavi de Gavi is great with the mixed fish platter! Service was excellent and we didn't feel rushed. I would highly recommend this restaurant, although possibly for adults more than families with young children, based on previous experience

We booked a table for 5.30 on a Saturday evening for a pre-theatre meal. When we arrived we were offered a complementary glass of Prosecco. The food, wine and service were all excellent and we finished our 3 Courses in plenty of time to walk to the theatre. We also received 20% off our bill because we had theatre tickets. I would highly recommend this restuarant and will be eating there again myself.
