Me & my partner left Faces very happy :) we didn't know what to expect at first knowing it is a night club at the weekend but the service was brilliant and the food was perfect, and like we said on the way out we will definitely go there again.

An exciting blend of restaurant, bar and nightclub, Faces Kitchen & Bar is a striking setting, rich in contemporary monochromatic styling. The riverside terrace has its own bar, and there are traditional afternoon teas which can be paired with cocktails.

Fresh, locally sourced produce goes into the Faces Kitchen & Bar menu, which is based around their josper charcoal grill. There is a meze selection, as well as generously filled salads. From the grill, succulent kebabs of monkfish, harissa chicken, lamb kofta and other varieties come with bulgar rice, pickled cabbage and grilled peppers. All the steaks are 28 day dry-aged from acclaimed butcher Aubrey Allen, and there are premium sides like duck fat chips or cheesy truffle fries. In warmer weather, the restaurant also fires up an additional barbecue on the terrace.

Desserts at Faces Kitchen & Bar Chelmsford include indulgent treats like treacle tart with clotted cream, and Pimms jelly with strawberry, cucumber, orange and mint. There is a full wine list, and creative cocktails are mixed up at the bar.

A versatile and exciting setting for everything from relaxed dining to energetic evening drinks and dancing, Faces Kitchen & Bar is 10 minutes' walk from Chelmsford Rail Station.

Not a good experience! I chose Faces due to recommendations and being an 80's theme for my birthday celebration. Firstly our cocktails took half an to be done, three drinks. Secondly our waiter was rude. On arrival of my friends dinner she noticed she had no pitta bread but yet wasn't told, she asked for a different dinner as wouldn't hve ordered it had she known she had no pitta bread!! Only to be told she'd have to wait another half an hour! She asked to see the manager he said a new dinner would be quicker but wasn't over apologetic he wasn't prepared to refund the whole dinner when asked eventually he refunded half. My dinner was very dry (pork confit) so dry and salty i had to order gravy to eat it. And yet my friend recommended the pork as she said it was delicious on her last visit. She said the same hers was not up to the same standard.
We heard no 80's music either! So overall a very disapointing visit. We wont be returning.

The food was delicious, however the burger was overlooked which made it hard to digest.

Had the baked Salmon with Mash and green beans. Beautifully cooked and would recommend! I'm very fussy and I loved every bite x

I have had many afternoon teas but this was the worst. It wasn't 'traditional' as the scones was cherry (which I'm allergic to) and had to be changed. The sandwiches were more or less all meat and I'm vegetarian. I asked for them to be changed - I got fish. I had to ask a 2nd time to eventually get them. No side plates offered - had to ask. Cakes were unusual rather than 'traditional.'

Food excellent, shame that they obviously forgot us - despite arriving before some large groups, who were served their starters before the two of us got our steaks! We were sat in front of the kitchen & upon arrival advised that we had to leave in an hour. Water & wine came very quickly, but after half an hour I had to ask for our steaks & we were just about to leave when they arrived. So we ate as much as we had time for & paid whilst eating. We were still late & missed the start of the film ??

Not a great experience. Been many times and always enjoyed it but not this time. I really don't know what was going on. Got there at 17.45 and the music was so loud. It took 15 minutes to get served at the bar. It just seemed that there were lots of staff but no action. We decided to go to our table as we thought it would be quicker to get a drink. Our table had been booked for 7 people but when we got to our table it was only set for 6. I was made to feel that it was my mistake and that I booked it wrong but I had the email confirmation with me. After showing them that I didn't have it wrong they squeezed another chair on to the table......very tight fit..... no apology. The table was in the middle of the dance floor so we were then asked to move before we had finished so that they could use the dance floor. They did give us another table but we had to take our drinks and move. The food wasn't great. Salad was dripping in oil and very limp. The chicken and lamb kebab very dry. We had a very nice friendly lady serving us but the other guy was quite kert and off hand. One of my friends said "rude".
