We went to eat on the green on a week-night evening, the restaurant was quite quiet when we arrived but filled up as the evening progressed. The food was excellent - there were 5 in our group and every meal was perfect - the crispy haggis ball canapés were a particular favourite! It was one of our group's birthday and we had organised a glass of champagne on arrival and a birthday plate which came at the end of the meal with the coffees and was a lovely surprise for the birthday girl.

We had a relaxed meal with friendly efficient service. We dined at 8.00 and had the feeling that there was no rush. The food was excellent and just as the coffee was served a plate, hand decorated with chocolate was brought to the table to mark our 40th wedding anniversary.

Perfect if you want to treat yourself. Food is consistently good. I have dined here both for lunch and dinner and I have never been disappointed. Although it may seem pricey compared with other local places, the quality is far superior to anywhere else in the vicinity so it is worth the money. The taster starters and desserts give you the chance to sample a number of dishes and the braised steak main is to die for.

19.30 Saturday - Great meal in a lovely place

We dined at 6.30 on a Wednesday night. The meal and service could not be faulted. I must admit I would prefer when going for a nice meal and it must be said quite expensive experience, in an atmosphere without, dare I say, any children present! That for me, was the only downside.

This was our 2nd visit to the restaurant and once again found the food, wine and ambiance absolutely first class. Its probably the best restaurant that I've visited in the Aberdeenshire area, on par with the Marcliff in Aberdeen, Shame its so far out of town when it comes to drinking and driving.

excellent food and service only one option for sitting due to short notice but was pleased to get a table so soon. Only one option of price for evening meals so would only go if for a special occasion.
