The a la carte meal was of Michelin star quality. It was exquisite in its detail, taste and texture.

Outstanding service. Fish and chips with perfect batter. Unexpectedly the deserts were orginal and just right after the chips. Absolutely splendid coffee. A party of about 30 were clearly enjoying a diamond wedding.

service very good. Food not as good, my wife had bream which was very small, I had roast lamb which was nice but the peas that came with it were hard.
My sticky toffee pudding was the best I've ever had

Staff were excellent, but service was very slow even although there were few covers to serve ( not the fault of waiting staff ). Some of the food was excellent ( Sea Bass ) lamb with french peas dish was not particularly good. A disappointment, not living up to the web site content. Table appointments and extras were poor. A charge of £2.75 for bread and butter was ridiculous - it should have been included with starter dishes. Ambience is poor - Interior decor needs a makeover.

Duck's is a top end dining experience, so don't go expecting your average pub restaurant. Prices reflect the quality of the food and service, but you won't be disappointed in terms of value for money, especially if you eat from the bar menu. Our favourite was the Scotch fishcake starter. The only dish we felt was overpriced was the Porterhouse, which at 67 pounds between 2, reallly ought to come with your choice of sides at no extra cost. Friendly, attentive service, a good relaxed atmosphere and reasonably priced wine by the glass were all positive features.

excellent food, some of the dishes were of Michelin star quality in terms of presentation, taste, flavours and use of ingredients. yes the menu was a little confused about its own identity (fish n chips on same menu as fine dining dishes) but thats ok if your kitchen can cope and you are not aiming for Michelin awards. I'd bet though that there is room for a fine dining area and a more informal area if thats what your customers are after. if your customers are looking for a mix, then just keep them happy and offer just that! regardless we shall be back again sooner rather than later as our whole food experience was first rate. best dishes - lamb was superb, very tender and full of flavour, well seasoned and frankly didn't want it to end! Others in the party raved about the pork and the sea bass. I also had the langoustine starter which was excellent - small dish- huge flavours. Interestingly two in our party had the fish and chips and commented how brilliant they were! to be honest we couldn't find fault (not that we were looking to!) in anything. Great Mothers day outing, thank you.

Ate in bistro. ALC menu not particularly attractive. Waiter brought bar menu. Far better selection (for us, anyway) and prices more reasonable. The food was excellent. Service good and friendly.
