Just 30 minutes from London, 3 AA Rosette award-winning Drakes Restaurant is an outstanding gastronomic dining establishment in the scenic village of Ripley.

Housed within an impressive red-brick Georgian building, Drakes Restaurant offers beautiful views of the garden from the boutique-style dining room which exudes a light and airy ambience. Oozing flair and finesse, the delectable dishes from the Drakes menu are presented with elegant simplicity and strong flavours from the fresh, seasonal produce.

Amongst the signature dishes are lamb saddle with slow cooked belly, thyme and braised chicory or the halibut served in a rich oyster cream with sea purslane, radish and sea water sauce. Tempting and decadent, the dessert menu at Drakes Surrey boasts sample dishes like the delicious warm pistachio cake with black olive and banana parfait.

The relaxed lounge area at Drakes Ripley features local gallery art and drinks are served in the walled garden during the summer. The exceptionally well picked wines also complement the superb menu.

We had a fabulous time, the food was exceptional, the wine was an education and the service was very impressive. We both really liked the fish course, the fillet of beef and the pasta dish. The desert was so pretty on the plate I took a photo. We were lucky enough to have been given a voucher for a significant birthday and this was dealt with in a very courteous manner. This was a lovely way to celebrate. Thank you.

We have dined at Drake's a couple of times in recent years, and love it, so were slightly apprehensive to return with the change in chef - but there was no cause for anxiety, everything was absolute perfection, and if anything the flavours throughout the glorious tasting menu (with accompanying wine flight) were more interesting that we remembered. Well done to the team there and thank you for a delightful evening.

Service thought was amazing and we were so well looked after and all of the canapés and little dishes between our three course dinner made for a delightful experience. It was a special occasion for my fiancée's birthday and they made it just that. Fantastic and would love to attend again.

Lovely meal and excellent wine selection on the tasting menu.
Enjoyed every course and the additional cheese course was delicious .
As good as any Michelin star restaurant in London, at a very reasonable price.

We enjoyed the tasting menu and shared the wine option.

The food and service were first class. My favourite dishes were the monkfish and the beef. The bill represented good value for money. The pace of the evening was excellent. The waiting staff were friendly and informative but unobtrusive. The evening for me was slightly spoiled by a very loud table in a semi private alcove. Other diners were clearly upset by this too. Without this behaviour I would have given 5 stars. The interior of the restaurant is a little plain and ordinary, doesn't quite match the beautiful period building.

Service was first class and the food good but it's lost the flavours and interest that it had the last time we visited a few months ago.

As good now as under the previous regime with Steve Drake.

Food was the usual quality we would expect from Drakes but out of seven courses we felt there needed to be another proper fish or meat course. Two out of seven was a little disappointing. The consequence was a very 'soft textured' meal overall with a lot of foam & light sauce. We didn't think it was good value for money compared with what we've had in the past. The drinks were great though!
