We visited the Clock House on a quiet evening mid-week. Exceptional food, probably the best meal I have ever had in Surrey. The service was also good, aided by an excellent Sommelier although the Maitre d' seemed rather nonplussed a little when one of us requested no potatoes. Altogether, highly recommended.

This was a belated lunch treat for Mother's Day with my mother and father before visiting the tulip festival at Dusborough Park. The tables were simply but stylishly dressed. The food was delicious, beautifully cooked and presented, and wine chosen by the sommelier was lovely and complimented the food. All the staff were very attentive. Thank you for making our treat so enjoyable. We shall be returning.

A good if restricted choice on the menu, all dishes gave sufficient quantity and all a high standard of taste and presentation. The service is excellent as are the canapés and petit fours.

I have visited the restaurant a number of times and have always enjoyed the food and the experience. However l was very disappointed with lunch on Wednesday 5th April. I ordered the three new dishes on the menu and sadly had a problem with each. Firstly, the starter - duck egg and asparagus. The white of the egg was undercooked and looked most unappetising. The jelly like consistency was unpalatable. Main course - brill dish was good overall and the mussels in tempura batter were delicious! However the spring onions were tough, chewy and a bit indigestible. It seemed the stringy outer layers had been used, rather than the inner tender part. Finally the dessert - the rhubarb and buckwheat mousse. Presentation was poor, looked a bit of a mess and rhubarb was overly sharp and hard. Gelatine had separated from the mousse ( I'm presuming that was not intentional) You may wonder why I didn't complain at the time. I certainly considered sending the duck egg back and in the end ate the yolk and left the"jelly! I dealt with it that way because I was with a friend who was buying me lunch as a birthday treat. I therefore didn't want to appear rude or embarrass her. Incidentally I had an upset tummy that evening and the following day. That has never happened following my many other visits to the restaurant. I'm wondering if it was due to the undercooked egg. I have recommended the restaurant to many people and it's true to say it has been a firm favourite with my family. However I'm sorry to say I would have some reservations about making a recommendation now. Finally I was also visited the restaurant with my daughter early in the year. On that occasion one of the waiters knocked my glass of wine over. We therefore had to move table mid-meal. The waiter was of course most apologetic and gave us a complimentary bottle of wine. Accidents happen! However on Wednesday the same waiter did the same thing to another diner! This time he managed to break the glass!

A really lovely imaginative menu. The staff and building are lovely too. I would definitely recommend for a special romantic dinner for two. Our second visit and I'm looking forward to our third!
