A majestic gastro-pub in the heart of Wimbledon Village, the Dog & Fox is dedicating to providing a hearty menu built upon the rustic simplicity of the British farmer’s larder. Quirky mismatched furniture and roaring log fires in the Dog & Fox interior create an endearing ambience for relaxed dining.

Braised Hampshire venison on the Dog & Fox menu is served with colcannon, beetroot and jus, and keeps company with pub classics like Old Spot Cumberland sausages with celeriac mash, and pale ale-battered haddock with triple cooked chips. Steaks are 21 day-aged Aberdeen Angus cuts, while desserts feature an enticing mango and banana tatin with brandy butter ice cream.

Apt to its location, the Dog & Fox pub in Wimbledon is decorated with vintage tennis rackets, which keep company with yellow and purple velvet chairs. There’s a selection of well-kept ales and international wines, which can be enjoyed al fresco in the beer garden.

The Dog & Fox is on the high street in Wimbledon Village, roughly half a mile from Wimbledon Tube Station and less than 15 minutes’ walk from the All England Tennis Club.

All the food wax of good quality although those who had lamb shank said it wasn't tasty enough. Service was poor but overall we had a nice time and would go back.

Booking online was no problem. Waitress was very nice, but could do with a communication lesson (Southern Comfort and Coke are not normally two seperate drinks). Was seated next to the open kitchen, which was interesting, but very noisy, that set of tables should be given out by choice when being seated? Food, was very good, both had the fish and chips (due to the lamb and duck both being sold out / off the menu). My better half didn't enjoy the 'mixed' bathroom experience, which I imagine is done to save floor space?. So, apart from my minor observations, it was all good, I would recommend and I would go back.

Food was great service not great. Got our bottle of wine (our first drinks) towards the end of the order.

When a waitress came to remove the plates she knocked a whole glass of still water (paid for) over. She did not return to clean it up nor replace it. We were still charged for it.

The food is always great there however it looked like they were very short handed with the serving staff. I had to wait 10 mins even to be greeted. Staff were friendly though so not their fault

Delicious burger, and a lovely meal all round. Only feedback would be that the Eton mess was a bit heavy on cream and light in fruit.

Excellent. Really beautifully done - lovely room (tempted to hold an event in the private dining bit now too) - very helpful efficient staff - excellent food menu
