Docklands Bar & Grill serves traditional British and European dishes using locally sourced, fresh ingredients. Food is served throughout the day until late in the restaurant, bar and the covered terrace overlooking the docks.

Changing daily, the seasonal menu at the Bar & Grill Docklands is served in stylish surrounds. Floor-to-ceiling windows overlook the historic Royal Victoria Dock, O2 and Canary Wharf, whilst during the summer the outside cooking station is fired up for barbecues on the terrace.

From the long, bright open bar at Docklands Bar & Grill London, discover a range of 14 different beers alongside cocktails designed by on-site mixologists.

    As soon as we arrived we were told "go sit there, go sit there". The waiter then didn't seem to know we had a table booked. Got seated in a dark corner. Not all wines were available. Food took a long time to come, on arrival we had a starter that we hadn't ordered. For mains 5 of us had steak it we couldn't have steak knives as they only had 3. As other patrons arrived they were told to take a menu and sit wherever. -another table behind us complained about the length of time we waited. Very...... faulty towers

    Hugely disappointing.
    When we arrived, we were *pointed* at (not shown to) our table, laid out for five despite us specifying five adults and two young children (ages supplied so they’d know we needed one high chair). A small issue, but indicative of the whole experience.

    When we asked for the afternoon tea menu we were given bar and grill menus (one guest was told she should have looked at it online). I had to go to the bar to see the teas on offer (6). Once a menu appeared, many of those listed weren’t available.

    We'd specified a vegetarian (fish allergic) and a gluten-allergic guest, and these were more or less okay. The other three received a paltry array of sandwiches, and less than one scone, treacle tart, eclair, and piece of carrot cake each. The jam and cream outweighed the scones by two to one! We asked if refills were available (as with every afternoon tea we've been to), and got one extra treacle tart and one scone. At least now we had one each! Our non-tea drinker asked if coffee was possible and was told it wasn't; this changed later. The gluten-free guest has an aversion to nuts which the staff could not have known about; however, when she raised this the response was "that's a shame".

    More sandwiches did materialise after complaining, and some extra gluten-free, nut-free brownies too. One of the staff introduced us to the supervisor, who promised to feed our issues back to the team. We shrugged and decided to plow on. Coffee did manifest eventually, though we were told this wasn't refillable, which is fine... except this later changed.

    The food itself was fine, and the bill was reduced by 20%, but that’s the least I expected given that we were served at least 20% less food than anticipated. The staff were friendly, and tried to be accomodating, but it wasn't enough. We don't stand on ceremony but there was an air of cluelessness bordering on farce.

    I just can't recommend it; pay a little more and go somewhere dedicated to afternoon tea.

    Good meal, we asked for the houmous and pitta bread that wasn't on the menu this time, and it was no problem, it came and was, as last time, great. Rest of the meal was also good.

    The meal was wonderful, especially the chocolate brownie with ginger ice cream. The service was excellent, very helpful and friendly.
