A charming riverside pub built in the 18th century, Dirty Duck Stratford-upon-Avon is a tranquil spot for great cask ales and British recipes. There are conservatory and garden seating areas, and the pub is moments from the Royal Shakespeare Theatre.

Specialising in trusty, home-cooked British recipes, the Dirty Duck menu is made up of time-honoured classics and inventive chef’s specials. The signature beef & ale pie is a creation from much-loved celebrity chef Tom Kerridge, while favourite world flavours include sizzling steak fajitas, or aubergine and roast beetroot curry. Gourmet sandwiches and jacket potatoes are served throughout the day, and guests can round things off with an indulgent crumble, cheesecake or sundae.

The drinks list at the Dirty Duck pub features carefully-chosen beers and international wines, and a lengthy list of soft drinks. Younger diners are not forgotten, with a varied menu for both lunch and dinner, and a mini roast served on Sundays.

Boasting river views and attracting local actors, Dirty Duck is 15 minutes' walk from Stratford-upon-Avon Station.

Two of the main courses were fine, the third main was a steak had to be returned to be further cooked. Unfortunately it still could not be eaten. We were given our choice of a pudding and a cheese platter on the 'house'.

Lovely pub. Great location when visiting Stratford RSC. Food was lovely. Service was good and the food was served promptly. Extensive menu covering most tastes. I had sea bass risotto which was lovely. The rest of the party had chickeb burger, sausage and mash and steak all of which were greatly enjoyed. My only slight reservation was that although the menu promised lovely chunky bread my starter of smoked salmon came with "Mother's pride bread" . A side order of chunky bread also came with the same bread. This let them down as I don't even serve this in my own home. That aside it was a lovely meal in a lovely atmosphere. Would definitely go again.

We were very pleased with the meal. Three of us haddock with spinach which was excellent (tasty and hot ) and the fourth had steak and chips. The apple pie and custard was delicious (two of us) and the cheesecake was highly rated too. We always like to come once year when we come to the theatre. Thank you.

Best place in Stratford on Avin for dinner/drinks before and after plays! See photos of past cast members and --often--current cast members.

Enjoyable roast dinners. Good service and friendly staff. Sea Bass was a little dry - overdone or dried out on the pass.
Deserts were lovely as was the coffee.
Great menu for a family group.
