Nestled on Bermondsey Square, Lokma Bermondsey offers a contemporary take on classic Middle Eastern recipes. As well as an elevated Moroccan-style lounge, a glass floor reveals the 9-century-old remains of Bermondsey Abbey.

Loaded with classic and colourful combinations, the Lokma menu includes casual meze dishes and tasty pitta pockets, as well as sumptuous main course flavours.     Terrible choice of restaurant. Was recommended by a friend but would never return. The waiter went out of his way to ruin the night and still demanded a discretionary service charge. He told us to hurry up with our orders. When we asked for certain drinks he said "no". He had his shirt untucked the whole time and did not look professional. He got our orders wrong and he was uninterested and sulking around the whole time as if he didn't want to be there. Completely appalled. The food was average but it's not exactly a cheap restaurant. If I go out to eat and pay £85 for a meal I expect good service and food. Otherwise I might as well stay at home. On top of it for him to demand service charge was an insult. The worst dining experience of the year and I shall be telling everyone to avoid this place.

    It was amazing as always I love love love this restaurant and raved about how great it was when I was visiting family in Sweden. So of course they came to visit and we're eager to find out what all the fuss was about. So I was very very disappointed that on this occasion the service as so very slow it took us over an hour to get our food.
    But they did compensate us for the wait whole lobster instead of half extra drink and no service charge.

    I still think they are amazing polite attentive and the ambience....
    Out of the how many times I've been there this is the only time I've had any issues with the service and I don't intend to stop going. Del Aziz is still BOMB.COM!

    Don't care about the wait ...things happen its part of life.....

    So they are always 5 Stars for me. Love love how they do... what they do!

    Service friendly but disappointed with the food. My steak was very fatty, one of the dishes didn't come with the sauce, broccoli was over cooked. Overall- expensive meal which was not value for money. At the end, we were settling the bill and they hadn't removed my plate, but had taken the other two. We won't be returning.

    Terrible experience and service. We had pre-booked a table, the waitresss (manager) seemed disinterested and told us to sit anywhere. We were given the a la carte menu. There was no mention of the daily specials. We had to ask for the Sunday website offer then was told it had changed and the website was out of date. We were not offered an alternative then the waitress just left us so we left us sitting there so after 10 minutes we left the restaurant and went elsewhere.

    Lovely space to sit in with different themed areas within the restaurant. We went here on Sunday morning at 10am and it was almost empty. I had a full English breakfast plus fresh orange juice and coffee. The juice and coffee were delicious but the breakfast was very average; the meat tasted good quality, but the scrambled eggs were tasteless and watery - really not very nice. It was accompanied by toast which was bog-standard sliced supermarket bread. The tomatoes were not 'roasted' as described in the menu, but just fried, and again, tasteless. The breakfast would have been vastly improved if it had had proper buttery scrambled eggs and thick toast made from artisan bread, with proper butter.
    Although the staff were nice enough as individuals, there was evidently some tension between them. We saw the manager standing in the restaurant arguing loudly with one of the chefs in the kitchen - telling him he would leave at the end of the day 'with no pay'. It wasn't a pleasant atmosphere in this respect. Overall I think this restaurant could be very good with more passion and effort made with regards to the food but also with a proper team of staff who could work well together. Sadly, at the moment, I wouldn't go back in a hurry.

    Sat with friends and we all had a selection of things. We shared a Mezze plate (meat) which was nice but needs a few tweaks. Far too much dips on the slate for the few pitta strips that are given. More bread could be sliced failing that restaurant could simply have a fantastic Mezze plate but with less sauce and the olives separate. Also the lamb borek could have had a touch more seasoning.
    The lobster was cooked well and seasoned nicely as were the gambas, however the harrisa wings and the ribs were cindered and over cooked. Delicious taste but more than over cooked.
    Too much salad on the plate and the chips could have stayed in the deep fryer for a touch longer.
    Delicious Prosecco.
    Great table service and a beautifully decorated restaurant with outside seating area and fantastic toilets.

    It was ok, no complimentary breads or dips which is quite common at this type of restaurant and within Mediterranean culture.

    My main was which was rice and lamb shish was dry a drizzle of sauce or a dip would have been nice.

    Staff nice, cocktails nice
