On the iconic Pall Mall, Davy’s at St James in London offers the traditional British food and fine vintage wines which the Davy’s brand is known for. With sawdust on the floor and candlelit tables in cosy nooks, Davy’s at St James offers a rustic city location to dine, or enjoy regular events including wine tastings.

The Davy’s at St James menu is surprising and varied, with wood pigeon and beetroot purée, and braised pig cheeks with garlic mash and chorizo. Matured chargrilled steaks are served with delicious sauces and hand-cut chips.

Tempting mains range from beer-battered haddock to pheasant breast with savoy cabbage and fig tatin. Try the courgette risotto with tomato fondue, or Davy’s classic bangers and mash with Cumberland sausage and onion gravy.

An extensive list of world wines offers vintages dating back to the 1970s, with plenty or real ales and ciders to sample too. Davy’s at St James pub is a 6-minute walk from Green Park Tube Station.

Venue had a great atmosphere once we'd found where the restaurant was, its located down an alleyway in a great part of London. Staff were very nice, food was great, just a shame the later it got the less menu items available.

Just the right level of buzz on a Friday evening, without being over-crowded (and mercifully tourist-free). [...] Excellent steaks! Great wine. Faultless.

Booked for an evening meal and it was quite quiet with just a few couples. The food was excellent although there was some confusion with my starter and I ended up with pig cheeks which my husband swapped with his choice. I tried a bit and they were absolutely delicious, so I will try them again if I see them on the menu. The waiter was so apologetic, but it wasn't a problem really. This was followed by an excellent steak and chunky chips. Couldn't manage dessert, so finished with a coffee. I always like the ambience of Davys and have eaten there quite often as it is quiet enough to hold a normal conversation most of the time

I've eaten at Davy's at St James several times. It's good value and equally suitable for a business lunch, a relaxed evening meal or a quiet glass of wine. Simple menu but dishes well presented.

Dined on Monday at 6pm. Great service, very friendly helpful staff. We had the small room at the back which was perfect as it was a family meal(all adults). Christmas week so it was busy but had a lovely atmosphere without being manic. Good food and excellent Davy's wines. We'll be back!

I allways enjoy eating here and understand it was Christmas week, but NO peanut butter cheesecake?? It is one of their signature dishes and we did lunch early,I was very disappointed. However I will have to try again and hope they have plenty this time!!
