Fantastic food as always, love this restaurant and have always been very pleased and satisfied with the service. This visit we were disappointed by the service when we arrived. I booked the table on line for 8.30pm, when we arrived I was told that I had booked it for 9.00pm which is not true, we were left waiting for 20 minutes before someone came back and apologised that I was correct, it was their mistake. Another large party that arrived after us, who had also booked for 8.30pm were seated first, we weren't shown to our table until 9.00pm. In the half an hour that we waited, no one came to ask if we wanted to at least order a drink. More than happy to wait if we hadn't booked, or if the place is really busy and someone explains this.

The food was outstanding and staff very friendly. We waited a little longer than we felt was appropriate for our main course. Took about 30mins after we had our starter. We were going to the theatre afterwards and therefore were conscious of the time. Once we spoke to a member of staff the meal arrived very quickly. In hindsight we perhaps should have mentioned that we were going to the Theatre.

Dabbawal was a fantastic choice for my partners birthday meal, food was amazing! Poppadom to start with a trio of different sauces, followed by delicious lamb samosas, chicken and fresh spinach curry for me and lamb rogan josh for my partner accompanied by pilau rice and naan.
The entire restaurant is well decorated and the staff are excellent.
A few negative points are the closeness of the tables and the toilet situation. One toilet for each sex. My partner had too que for ten minutes which is the last thing you want too do when enjoying a meal for a special occasion. Overall fantastic :)

Excellent food yet again. No complaints. My favourite curry house in the Toon.

Great food, great service. Only complaint is that the table by the door can be a little on the cool side!
