With award-winning outdoor and children's play areas, and live music on certain nights, CookHouse Pub & Carvery Prestatyn is a wonderfully family-friendly setting for traditional British dishes.

The CookHouse Pub & Carvery menu offers a great selection of meals throughout the day. There are full English breakfasts in the morning, while later on there are British pub classics ranging from fish and chips to lamb shank with minted lamb gravy, and a selection of steaks and burgers. There is a dedicated rotisserie oven, with freshly cooked whole chickens being a popular choice.

Welsh beef, gammon, turkey crown or spit-roast chicken are available on the carvery menu at CookHouse Pub & Carvery in Wrexham, while the desserts include classics like lemon meringue pie and chocolate crunch cheesecake. There is a great selection of wine, beers and spirits, and a dedicated kids' menu too.

A firm favourite for families, CookHouse Pub & Carvery is a 3-minute walk from Prestatyn Rail Station.

The gentleman behind the bar who took our food order ( I assume either the manager or shift manager) was extremely helpful with the order, including arranging egg and chips for my mum, as nothing on the menu was suitable for her. He really went out of his way, sadly he was let down by his staff.
When the starters arrived the soup came without a spoon. We asked a young man with dark hair, ponytail and beard for a spoon, his response was " 2 minutes" he completely forgot about us.Fortunately the carvery had closed so we took a spoon from the mint sauce bowl.
The Carrot and Coriander soup, the sauteed mushrooms, chicken pate and the mozzarella bread sticks went down extremely well, the rest of the food was at best mediocre, which is a real shame as obviously a lot of money has been invested in redecorating.
The pub itself was virtually empty , yet our party of seven was seated near a children s party.
Hopefully you will find this criticism constructive and make some suggestions to your team on how they can improve the experience for future customers.

Good value. Great carvery, kids meals good and they loved the ice cream parlour. Staff were very polite, friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Good little outdoor play area and loads of outdoor seating and tables. Spotlessly clean, would recommend for a family meal.

It was very busy on arrival and we were told it would be a 45 minute wait for food. The starters arrived after about 20 miniutes which was great. The staff were friendly and helpful. The peri peri fries were a big hit with my grown up children. The carvery was excellent value.

4 of the party had the carvery which was excellent, although the cauliflower was a bit too hard, but one of the party had fish and chips which was very poor and overcooked. We were told to wait 15 minutes before going for our carvery meals, but the other 2 meals did not come our for a further 30 minutes and we had finished our carvery meals with 15 minutes further wait, as it was a special occasion didn't like to complain, the other person had the chicken stack, it was okay but he wasn't impressed. I would only recommend the carvery to friends, but nothing else.

All went ok. I did not like our table 109 which is in a corner and had not character.
The meal was fine but I had to search for a steak knife for my steak, bacon salad.
